Hi,
This was something that I had been looking into as well. There are a number of apps that you can use to backup your text messages. However you in order to use these apps your device needs to be rooted. I am not aware of any app that can backup your app data without requiring root access. If someone else does please do let us know.

AppSync - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ri.appsync
This is a great if you just want to transfer your app data from one phones to the other. It works great for transferring text messages in Fongo as well. Open the app in the both phones running on the same wifi network and they should immediately detect each other. Then pair the devices and transfer the data from your old phone to the new one.

Titanium Backup - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... niumBackup
This is good is you want to backup your texts messages. Of course you can then restore your backed up data to your new phone as well. You can use this app to backup all your apps and app data on to the SD card. Then transfer the files to the new phone and using Titanium Backup you can restore the Fongo app on your new phone. Make sure that when you are restoring you select the option to restore App+Data.

Go Backup - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .backup.ex
Similar to Titanium Backup but with a simpler UI.

Remember these apps will not be able to backup the app data if your device is not rooted. I have used all three apps and and they were perfectly. If you have any questions let me know. Hope this helps.

Cheers!
