I need another FPL number

Post by NULL »

I am currently registered with an Alberta based FPL # . I would however like a Toronto number also. Ideally, I would like to keep my Alberta FPL number and also have a Toronto one. What are my options? Can I simply make another account with all registration info being the same (same address, email, name, phone # for activation) and get a Toronto number this time?

Thank you.

Indeed you can! Though if you want to use it with an ATA you would have to purchase another config file.

Thanks for the fast response!

I've made the new number. I tried to test it out and called my new FPL #. I left myself a voice msg. I did it twice. Both times it was forwarded to my email. It is a 1KB au file. I tried to play it, but there was nothing. I dont see it in my mail box on FPL either (I have the copy voicemail option enabled). Some time later, I tried it again. Left myself a lengthy voice msg (about 20-30secs). However, the same issue has occurred. I have checked the call logs and it confirms that the calls were received successfully.

I have also confirmed no VM with the FPL softphone.

Thanks.

Update:

Tried it again today. I have not enabled VM forwarding this time, so all mail should go to my FPL mailbox. Left myself a voice msg again. Nothing shows up in the mailbox. Called using both the softphone and access number but it claims no new voice messages...

Strange indeed - Could you PM me your FPL number and I'll have a look through our voicemail data base and see what comes up under your account?

Excuse me, but i am still waiting for a response.

Anywayz, because of the lack of feedback from your end, I deleted that FPL account and made a new one. I still get the same issues...

Sorry I did not respond, but this is a global issue that is being looked into by the software designers.

How widespread is the problem? Is it affecting only new accounts?

Please keep us posted when the problem has been resolved.

So, the issues: Voicemails forwarded to email are 3kb or less.

What we've found: There is mismatch between Voicemail boxes and server accounts however what caused that is not so clear.

We're waiting on responses from the developer on when a fix will be released, I will keep you updated.

I have the same issue (as do others I know)... voicemail not working is something that ought to get more coverage.... like....maybe...a notice on the front page of your site???

anyway... does the developer have an update....??/

btw... the .au file is also giving codec errors in media player....and real player.... strange, because I have every codec known to man on my pc!

If I was to guess, you have broken codecs. The easiest way to fix it is to use something like a klite codec pack, which deletes old, and broken codecs, and registries and installs the latest codecs.

I have the klite codec pack (and more)... btw it breaks audacity when I try and open it in there too...

the bigger issue is that the vm doesn't work...

My Voice Mail doesn't work either. The .au file seems to be corrupted or something. Been two weeks like this. Thought the fix was finally implemented but it still does not work !

......and the awesome and timely response time to the complaints from the FPL Admin really helps eh?

 Dear Admin : one thing I learned about customer service is that communication is the key.... even if you don't have an answer.....

I will respond on his behalf and edit his post - it looks like the vendor did not resolve this as they said they did, so we are back at it with them again to find a resolution.

For the second FPL number, are we permitted to turn on followme and put our first FPL (for which a config file for ATA used is already purchased) as one of the followme phone numbers?

thanks!

Unfortunately at this time we do not permit follow-me between two numbers in our system. This was done to eliminate some abuse that happened in the earlier days of the service.

Some abuse...
*imagines signing up with a bunch of 10minute email accounts/gatormail accounts, then creating a large endless loop of forwards on the network specifically to tie up bandwidth and destabalize the FPL service network and SIP/Authentication servers.*

You don't have to tell me if I'm right or not...

I tried to register another FPL number but got a message "You already have FreePhoneLine account!". What should I do?
Thanks
