Does Fongo record our activities?

Postby avart1 » 11/04/2020

Hello, I wanna know if Fongo is recording our calls when we use their mobile service?

Can they record our activities, texts, login, etc?

I know it is VoIP, but I hope that is secure......

VOIP is not secure. You should have no expectation your conversation will be private either. Saying that, it does not appear Fongo has any active policy on snooping, but if there is a warrant do to so, they are compelled to do so.

I am new to that stuff so bear with me

1- Is a cellphone conversation more private safer than one on VOIP ?

2- Can we make call through a VPN ?

3- How easy to get into a VOPI conversation to gather information incognito ?

thanks

Cell calls can be intercepted (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2 ... 115248.htm), but, generally speaking, if no encryption is used on the VoIP call, then the answer to this question is yes.

Both ends of Fongo calls are not encrypted.

Can we make call through a VPN ?

Yes, but that just encrypts one end of the call.

All calls, once they reach a PSTN network or landline are unencrypted.

I'd consider it to be more inconvenient than tapping a landline conversation, but plenty of people use insecure routers and networks.

I fail to see why Fongo would purposely spend money and resources recording calls unless forced to do so. From a business perspective, it makes no sense.
