I am interested in getting a Fongo Mobile Number on my existing phone with another service provider

    How can I get a Fongo Mobile number to use as a second number on my iPhone?, Do I need install to Fongo app or can I register online without app?
    Can I send and receive calls and text messages on the Fongo Mobile number
    How to port an existing number from a mobile service provider to Fongo
    Does Fongo Mobile number require a sim card?

Can I send and receive calls


Receiving calls is free. Placing calls to area codes within Canadian provinces is free.
Calls to numbers outside of Canadian provinces require the purchase of World Credits: https://account.fongo.com/calling/long-distance/.

You may also be able to earn World Credits in exchange for performing certain activities:

How to port an existing number from a mobile service provider to Fongo

The porting fee is $25+tax.

Does Fongo Mobile number require a sim card?


Fongo Mobile does not require a different sim card from the one you may already have.
The requirement is internet access.
Fongo Mobile requires that you have an active cellular data plan from any mobility provider if you are not connected to Wi-Fi.

Fongo Mobile is a SIP service with its servers located in Southern Ontario.

If you port a phone number into Fongo Mobile, your account will not be deleted due to inactivity.

Yes. You just need to install Fongo Mobile on the new iPhone and log into the app.

Can I port a number from either Textnow or Talkatone?, I was using one of their number for sometime and doesn't want to loose that..

For Textnow, you need your account info, including the account PIN: https://bestcellular.com/textnow-wireless/
Possibly for free Textnow accounts, you may need to get Fongo support to contact Textnow: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContract/com ... ee/fpkkdws
"I was told via TextNow chat that the new carrier needs to email directly to porting@textnow.com."

I've never dealt with Textnow, and I have no clue how their process works for getting account information or whether Textnow will try to block porting out from free accounts.

I'm not sure what Fongo's acceptable use policy is with respect to multiple free accounts. For example, it appears as though having multiple free (non-ported or no SMS sub/world credit) accounts may make an account subject to deletion: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/arti ... ion-Policy (see point #4).

A new account requires a different email address. And only one number is allowed per account. It is possible to have multiple (paid) accounts.
