[Resolved] copy voicemail to email not working

Post by Liptonbrisk »

I just noticed the copy setting for voicemail to email is not working at the time of writing.

I tested with a Fongo Mobile and Freephoneline account.

If anyone is concerned, I've tried to notify Fongo.

Voicemail message waiting indicator triggers relatively quickly, however. The email just never arrives (or at least, I've waited over 30 minutes with the FPL account and over 30 minutes with the Fongo Mobile account).
Please do not send me emails; I do not work for nor represent Freephoneline or Fongo. Post questions on the forums so that others may learn from responses or assist you. Thank you. If you have an issue with your account or have a billing issue, submit a ticket here: https://support.fongo.com/hc/requests/new. Visit http://status.fongo.com/ to check FPL/Fongo service status. Freephoneline setup guides can be found at http://forum.fongo.com/viewforum.php?f=15.

Over 9 hours later, the emails still haven’t arrived. I checked my online webmail spam folder as well.

I just tested now at 01:45 PM Eastern time with Freephoneline and the email notification is almost instantaneous.

Maybe the problem is resolved. I'm using gmail.

Thank you for checking.

I did some more testing.

The problem isn't Fongo.

The problem involves filtering when a third party domain name email service is involved.

Fibernetics ---> ISP email works

Fibenetics --> 3rd party domain email service --> ISP email doesn't work

The ISP's email service is filtering or dropping email from Fibernetics when it's also, in turn, forwarded to the ISP's email, in this example, by a third party service.
The email doesn't even reach the user's spam folder. The filtered email doesn't even appear in the user's spam folder. The email is simply rejected without any record of it being rejected made available to the client. If there's a bounce message, of course, the user can't see it.

Using https://mxtoolbox.com helped somewhat to discover where the problem occurs.
