[resolved] Quit application?

Post by grmcdorman »

There doesn't seem to be any way to quit the Dell Voice application. There's no menu, and no 'quit' that I can find in any tab.

How do I exit the application, short of terminating it using the Task Manager?

It's a little round-about, but here's the process to log out or exit (Android App):

Go to the Settings tab of the app and select Account.

Touch the Menu button and you will see two options: Log out and Exit.

For me, another quick and effective way to quit Dell Voice is to access the Preference menu. It will force close the program immediately.

Seriously, it is a bug or it is unique to my setup? I am using a MyTouch 4G.

My Desire HD seems to work fine, although I have had the phone lockup and reboot once since I installed DellVoice. I'm not sure it is going to play too nice when the wifi drops out for a second or two. We shall see. I'm liking it so far.

That tab (and the whole app) is working for me on my Samsung Galaxy S. I just checked the Android market, and there is already an update posted so you might want to check it out?

I installed the second update on my phone, still the same problem. But Dell Voice works well on my Android tablet. Since the Preference settings are not critical, I am not complaining. ;)

To say the least. Perhaps that's intentional since they expect their code to run all the time in order to accept incoming calls.

That said, a couple of suggestions:
1. Make it more obvious how to Exit/SignOut
2. Add an "Are you sure?" prompt to SignOut so it's a bit harder to do it inadvertently. It's a pain having to rekey username and password after an inadvertent SignOut, especially on smartphones with small screens and even smaller keyboards.

I like those ideas and will certainly pas them on!

Personally I an used to a few options coming up when I press the menu button. I am not used to it only happening on one screen.

Maybe make the signout/preferences come up when you hit the menu button on any screen. It seems a bit 'dead' when nothing happens after pressing the menu button.
