Battery drain

Post by au3423 »

Does anyone else have a problem where the app keeps the phone awake?

I've used CSipSimple before with incoming calls enabled and the phone still went to sleep properly. With this app I had to kill the Dell Voice service before the phone would start going to sleep. I lost 20% battery in 2 hours and in Battery Status menu it showed phone as being awake constantly and all of the battery usage was from the Dell Voice application. Again, the app itself was not actually running. Task manager showed no running application and the only instance of Dell Voice I can find was in the services menu.

I am using Gingerbread 2.3.6 on Samsung Galaxy SII

I found the battery life on my SGS2 fairly poor regardless of what I was running, however it draining that much in such a short period of time is strange unless you're in the Fongo HQ warehouse where service / signal is something only heard of by rough description.

I will discuss with our development team if they are aware of, or working on, any battery optimizations.

I was a bit worried about battery drain, but to be honest it is not that bad on my DesireHD. It obviously does has an effect, but I'm not worried about it. Your battery drain seems a lot higher than what I am seeing.

I also find that having the "Dell Voice" app open seriously drains my battery on my iPhone4S. Any improvement would be great.

Our developers are working hard to continue optimizing battery usage on the app.

To put in my $0.02 and to give yet another example, I'm unsure whether this is the app itself, or the hardware.

See my usage below (specifically battery). Note that cell standby is using 22%, while Dell Voice is using only 6%.
battery/mem/cpu usage 1
battery/mem/cpu usage 1
battery/mem/cpu usage 2
battery/mem/cpu usage 2
