Quebec expansion!
Doing my routine browsing of various sources, I notice that Fibernetics is currently expanding it's footprint in Quebec (NPA 579 & 873). Those of you who know how to look this up can do so. Of course, that is only FIBERNETICS, not Fongo, but I would assume (oooh, dangerous!) that a Fongo announcement and expansion is not too far behind.

Re: Quebec expansion!
Fibernetics is expanding it's coverage (NOT FONGO --- yet...) to 13 additional ratecentres in NPA579 (which is an overlay of NPA450) and 2 additional ratecentres in NPA873 (overlay of NPA819).
From my quick research, this will result in NO net increase in potential free calling area for Fongo customers (should Fongo also start to offer DID's in these areas at a later date) as they are already covered.

RE: Expansion
how can you give a drippy little town like Embro in Ontario free calling facility and keep the whole center of BC vacant. There are 15 towns in the Thompson Valley in center and northern BC that you seem to have missed. Whats up? I am currently using a phone number from Vancouver and it works very well, but I would like to have a local phone number. Before you tell me that the CRTC or Telus is not alowing numbers to be released here, let me assure that Telus is releasing numbers to their own "Home Phones" and the CRTC says they have been available for over a year.
hope you get there soon

Re: Quebec expansion!
Hi Doug,
As has been mentioned in other threads previously, expanding into a new area is very expensive when no DID's have already been established by Fongo. As such, expansion happens in areas that Fongo knows will have high use and where it is more affordable to set a footprint for us. No, please take this as saying that area is not important to us, ideally we would be across the board in Canada, but this will take time. remember, a free service is not the biggest money making machine.

Re: Quebec expansion!
Just got it set up your way - Rogers modem works in the bridge mode. Linksys E4200 plugged into it, two Fongo lines plugged into the E4200. Thanks!
