Email notice when there is a service failure or maintenance

The title says it all. I'm sure i'm not the only one that would like to receive an email in case of a service failure or when there are maintenance.
With the recent failures that lasted a couple of days many of use went in the dark not knowing that there was a failure
and was wondering why the phone suddenly stopped working. Also, it's not everybody that watch the forum for the failure.
That way people could take precautions in case of failure and get a form of redundancy like a cellphone or another fallback voip
provider.
