Voicemail Indicator not working ?

Postby Tpontik » 03/19/2021

Got my fongo home phone setup and the voicemail indicator on the local handsets aren't working. I have the awnsering machine turned off and voicemail is all through fongo. After I leave a voice message there's no flashing light on the handsets or any indication of one. I have to dial *98 every now and then and make sure I don't have any voicemails.

Any suggestions ? Is it working for you ? I contacted support and they said it's down but I think that's bs because nothing is noted on their system status site.

I don't use Fongo Home Phone and can't verify, but with Freephoneline the voicemail notification normally take up to 10 minutes to arrive after a voicemail has been left and up to 10 minutes to disappear after all voicemail has been deleted. The wait period has been implemented to help reduce server traffic. There's also a delay with Fongo Mobile.

The Fongo status site isn't always updated immediately, especially during this pandemic.
Support staff are the only ones who can help you if voicemail notifications aren't working.

You can setup voicemail to email notifications, so at least you'll receive an email when voicemail has been left (I use the "copy" setting with Freephoneline): https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/arti ... ification-.
Please do not send me emails; I do not work for nor represent Freephoneline or Fongo. Post questions on the forums so that others may learn from responses or assist you. Thank you. If you have an issue with your account or have a billing issue, submit a ticket here: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Visit http://status.fongo.com/ to check FPL/Fongo service status. Freephoneline setup guides can be found at viewforum.php?f=15.
