New website
I was wondering if we could have a little inside as to when the new website (including French) is coming.
O May 13th we read in the forums there was an ETA set for mid June (http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic ... site#p6512)
Then on June 09th it was written "... it took a serious hike and was given a serious deadline and thus is now as close as I outline above". (http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic ... site#p7140)
That was concerning the Pay as you go long distance and other (mysterious) features. It's a fact that when there is such an upgrade many improvements come along.
Now we just had a "big" upgrade on the primary server and two version upgrades on the SIP server platform. So I guess all will come out together and probably (my guess) include new cities.
Oh! I know Hawkesbury On will not be included. The Canadian Number Administrator confirmed to me that Fibernetics did not send any letter of intent for that matter to the CRTC which then circulates it to other concerned organizations. But I'm stiil anxious to know the new features that are coming and I might be using.
So finally it'd be nice to know if July is too early.

Re: New website
Callopsitte I wish I could, it is extremely exciting and I do wish I could share it with all of you - This is of course strictly confidential though and I cannot. However if you were to count to 20,160; one digit per minute, you may be close.

Re: New website
I was almost certain too you wouldn't say it although I don't understand why keeping those things confidential. I know though those instructions come from upper level and you're bound to those directions.
But Kris, as you know how much I want my Bell Hawkesbury with FPL, you must be aware that I'm trying to pull as many strings as I can in every direction I can. Meaning some actions to help FPL develop here if possible and others to FPL to rush them to expand here (I know I can be a pain in the ... when I believe and/or want something). All this said I got, by all my searches and letters and responses to guess that it seems that in around 14 days we'll see great things. But again, that's just me saying.

Re: New website
I had a dream last night. I woke up and when I took my telephone a voice said "Welcome to Freephoneline. Your Hawkesbury's number has finally been ported with us. You will no longer have to encourage bad service and greedy people by paying Bell Canada any longer. Your long distances, if you have any, will only be 2¢ per minute"
Then when I woke up this morning I found out that this dream was not premonitory.

Should there have been a plus (+) sign inbetwwen the two and I should have understood 48 hours in all? Or can this happen anytime of day (I thought all changes were better done at night time).Steve is correct and it will be another 24 hours.

Callopsitte, we do understand this has been a scenario of "tomorrow... Oh wait... tomorrow", please read: http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic ... 7856#p7856 for more info. Not that this is to blame of course, that is not at all what I am saying - Simply that we've had to revamp so much it took longer than expected.

Re: New website
LMAO! So FPL made partners with Labatt. It's always a good thing to partner but I question the decision to do it with Labatt. Not that I'm against it but because of internet. Having that partnership will of course give much more visibility but then that's visible to people under 18 yrs old and they can cheat on their age to get the phone and will then have the beer ad "in their face" as long as possible. Oh well.
What I admire is that there is now a french version.
But what about the 2¢ per minute long distance calls? I clicked on the buy vouchers and it sent me to FPL page but I didn't see I could buy vouchers, just the Canada and worldwide package?
Also as it's hard to tell, are there new cities in (new numbers/cities which could be ported)? Will FPL continue to grow and get new cities or will it stay as it is now that it partners with Labatt?

The partnership means bigger and better things to come, and quicker!
We are still working out the call vouchers, yes. Hence the hold on the website...

Re: New website
Any partnership is aim to bigger, better and quicker. I don't doubt that'll be the case with such a partner.
As for the vouchers, any dates (just month would be nice to know)? It's been announced since the beginning of time!!!
How about new cities? Will there be some in a near future (and hopefully Hawkesbury)?
Or should the FPL community understand that the partnership announcement was the big upgrade of the year?
Does this mean this website will be replaced with the Budweiser one?Hence the hold on the website...

Re: New website
The website will remain freephoneline.ca - The other websites are simply media partnership pages with their own branded software - For any of the additional services like long distance vouchers, hardware purchases, etc... they are redirected to freephoneline.ca.
As for adding new cities, we are always looking to expand in any way we can - be it new cities, more features, better rates, you name it!

Are you again keeping secrets? Will there be new cities added soon (is there a month you can say, although I doubt it). Or when will the long distance vouchers be available?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Vouchers will be available when we get everything running smoothly and efficiently, which yes, includes online purchase.
As for expansion, this happens behind the scenes where even I cannot see.

Re: New website
Great! One thing done.
I've seen it (english only. Will take a look at french later). I've seen it announces the vouchers. I hope it will be soon.
I've also seen the list of cities (http://www.freephoneline.ca/cityListing). I'm wondering if they are only termination cities or cities you can have your number ported from. And if only termination, why isn't Hawkesbury in it as I can dial Hawkesbury?
