Important Upgrade Notification!

Hello everyone,

We are proud to announce that freephoneline will be performing the much talked about server upgrades on Wednesday, October 6th around approximately 02:00AM EST. This upgrade will greatly improve the stability of our network and allow us to bring new and exciting features to you in the future.

We expect interruptions to be fairly minimal during this changeover, but would like everyone to be prepared for service interruptions during this time regardless while the old systems are transitioned to the new ones.

A couple points to be aware of
  • Bud Phone/Bud Light Phone/Bud Light Lime Phone and Kokanee phone users who are running the older version of their softphone will be contacted via phone and email to upgrade
  • Nothing will need to be changed for existing ATA or softphone users (except those being contacted). SIP settings and everything else will remain exactly the same as before.
Support hours during this day will remain the same - we will not have anyone on the phones or forum at 2am while this is happening. Our support team will be here at 8am as usual if anyone has any questions or problems that they believe are related to this.

FTL is currenly now as of 9:30 pm Toronto time. Is anyone else having this problem tonight?

Downtime was minimal, here are the actual figures:

Critical: 2010/10/04 21:26:40
Normal: 2010/10/04 21:38:49

By 11:14 it was up, this may have been a isolated incident; however, if your device was set to re-register at a 1800 second interval it would have taken a while to come back online.

The upgrade was completed successfully overnight and all systems are fully operational since then.

We are experiencing one small bug that you need to be aware of until fixed shortly:
  • Right now, everyone's caller ID is blocked and showing as Anonymous on their outbound calls. If you dial *67 before each call it should unblock it for that call unless your ATA is interfering with the service code. This will be fixed shortly and we will update here once it is!
  • Some users are reporting isolated issues accessing voicemail - this is also being worked on as a high priority.
