[Nov 9 2010] Temporary Service Issues

Post by FONGO_kris »

Freephoneline is experiencing a temporary, global issue where all incoming and outgoing calls are returning 'This call is not covered by your tariff plan' error, the issue has not yet been isolated; however, we are working to resolve the problems as quickly as possible and will advise with any updates we have.

Thank you for your patience and continuing understanding!

It would be nice if you were more specific so I can also test if it applies to my line. ;)

try your voice mail see if that's up *98 as I am without service to voice mail or other local numbers (but voice mail is beyond the point right now)

Hi every one, the thing is that FPL was (I think still is) a good VOIP Service provider till the last few weeks especially since the last server's upgrade on October.
Will this kind of interruption happen often?

Currently, customers cannot access their voicemail by entering *98, instead they will have to enter their phone number on their ATA (or software) until a permanent fix can be uploaded.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hey Kris,

Not expecting a full solution right away but any idea when voice mail will work via *98 or has the issue not been addressed yet as it is unknown?

Thanks Kris,

Unfortunately the problem still exists in Belleville. I can make outgoing calls from my FPL but it cannot be called from my Bell line or Bell mobility phone, I just get the message "your account balance is insufficient to call this destination"

I get the same message when I try and call friends who also have FPL numbers in the 613 689 xxxx range.

Are you aware of this and are you close to having the issue resolved?

Incoming call OK BUT

Outgoing call is a mess!!

Tonight Nov 9, 2010 8:19 PST p.m. tried to make some outgoing call.

Call 778-233-xxxx, delay for almost 20 seconds then my cell ring, but pick up no sound at all.
Call FPL access number 604-283-4011, hit "you call in not covered by your plan" (no funding for LD call)
Call 604-678-xxxx, hit "you call is not covered by your plan" sometime. But the other time dead air.

*98 works.

Failed call log:

1604283xxxx 1778233xxxx 09.11.10 23:13:14 Normal completed call Normal call clearing Vancouver BC
1604283xxxx 16042384011 09.11.10 23:15:38 Normal completed call Normal call clearing Richmond BC

Few minutes later, it seems working again.

Success call log:

1604283xxxx 1604678xxxx 0:05 09.11.10 23:23:08 09.11.10 23:23:13 Vancouver BC $ 0.0

And then screw again!!!!

FPL please help!!!!

I shall PM the details.

Hey Steve,

The 905 issue seems to have been solved calling those numbers now goes through, I just got the SIP settings on Sunday night is this a common issue every other month or is this a one time thing ? (Its understandable to have server issues as who doesn't have server issues) but one thing i did like was quick response to what was going on and it was mostly corrected fairly quickly so A+ for that

Thanks Steve
