Web & Softphone Application Version 2.1.0 - 03.09.2009

Post by FONGO_kris »

Hi guys,

There is a new version of FPL both desktop and web.

One important thing is that now accounts can be certified (Configuration File) only after the user has agreed to 911 terms. The agreement is automatically shown to the user when he/she runs the new version of the desktop application, so just one click is needed from the FPL user to agree.

Another thing is that we have a request for certification feature now. An e-mail is sent for every certification request made by user to support(at)freephoneline.ca and an agent will contact you directly within 48hr of you sending the request.

added new feature: request for certification - users may request certification. Email will be sent to support@freephoneline.ca.
Important: user may request certification from freephoneline.ca after login (link is on the bottom) and from FPL desktop application.

IN LAYMAN'S TERMS

- added new feature: request for certification - user may request certification from freephoneline.ca after login (link is on the bottom) and from FPL desktop application. An email will then be sent to support@freephoneline.ca.

- added new feature: view certification requests - agents have a link to view all certification requests on a generalized server.

- added new feature: 911 agreement - user must agree to 911 terms before start using the FPL application.

- changed functionality: account can be certified only after the user has agreed to 911 terms.

- changed functionality: softphone now runs lighter and faster.

- added new feature: user can now specify a port instead of 13000, or 13001 to use.

If you have anything that is unclear to you, please let me know.

Upon testing I still get same error, which port do I use. I have opened 13000,13001, 5060, 5061 as TCP/UDP.
No Luck. I am using Netgear WGR614v3 router and westar Modem for Rogers ISP on a Windows XP Laptop.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

So if you try a call, it won't go through either?
What I'm getting at is some users have gotten that port error in the new version but their calls work just fine

It will be a while.

We're switching platforms (Java -> C++) so once that is done and functioning the way we need/want it to, then we can port to Linux and Mac.

A Linux version would be sweet! I've been mulling on using my asterisk box, my wifi dph541 for me, and my RTP300 for the house all together with FPL. I'd gladly pay the $150 to unlock them! only wish i could get a sipura-1001 unit for when i am out of town and at a hotel with highspeed internet in my room. they are either very expensive or hard to acquire. Anyone with one to sell for a cheap price, i could use 4!!! email me or PM me pls!

There are some people on the forum who have working Asterisk setups, so there's something Linux based. I've seen walkthroughs (not bookmarked sorry) for using Asterisk with a Software Phone too... so if you wanted to start playing around with an asterisk box you could.

As for the Sipura, if you wanted to play with one of those, might be easier to get a newer one, like the 2002 unit.
