Platform Upgrade announcement

We are planning to perform an upgrade of our SIP gateway / server to address several issues that have come up over time.

We do expect this to be service affecting during the maintenance window (1am to 5am EDT) the morning of Wednesday Jul 20th.

We also will have a means to quickly revert back if necessary.

Freephoneline.ca Service Outage:

• Start time: 2011 - 07 -20 1:00 Eastern

• End time: 2011 - 07 -20 5:00 Eastern

• Expected Outage: All SIP based services will be affected for various intervals during the maintenance window for periods of up to 60 minutes at a time

Kris, are you able to say what the issues you are going to address are? Just so we know if the upgrade caused a problem or not.

The one that comes to mind right away is the issue with our voicemail greetings not saving right away. I will try to find a full list of expected resolutions for you shortly.

Also be mindful that this upgrade will not only be resolving issues with services but with some of our webUI issues as well.

Any news on the changes? Was the upgrade successful? What new features are available?

The upgrade was completed successfully. The changes made ranged from minor to major bugfixes, including our date and time announcement included in our voicemail system causing some dead air issues; after the upgrade everything works smoothly. There are other 'new' features that we've yet to roll out, and for now we'll just have to leave you with the feeling of anticipation.
