SIP Server Authentication Issues - Load Balance

ATTN: All FreePhoneLine Customers!

Please, on your ATA's change "Register Expires" from "180" (milliseconds) to "3600" (milliseconds).

The load on the server from everyone re-authenticating every 180 seconds is unnecessary and will cause unnecessary problems. This will decrease stress on the system and hopefully reduce errors like we've had the past week. New hardware is already on it's way to expand the server capacity.

I changed it in my ATA here and it's been solid for about 40 minutes.

Can you explain this setting more closely.
No user is re-authenticated every 180 seconds. If user cannot login to server it will try again in 180 seconds. Am I right?
Now lets we change it to 3600 seconds (1 hour). If user cannot re-authenticate, next try will be one hour later, and no phone service that long.

Am I right?
If not lets explain it, please.

Sorry that was a typo, re-read again please!

It will now re-register every 3.6 minutes instead of every 18 seconds!!!

Thanks for the update. Bad news or good, as a subscriber, it's always encouraging to get some feedback.

Our experience has improved since the TTL was changed from 180 ms to 3600.
