Until today I'm still experiencing intermittence disconnection issues. Hope Fongo team is working on it.

I called customer support; and they told me to pull out the power plug and put it back after 5 minutes. I put it back after 15 minutes and it seems to be working OK since then. I am not sure though that how long it would work fine. But you guys can give it a try.

Thanks,

I had the service restored a couple of days before and I lost it again last night. No dial tone, nothing. Dead phone! Had to power off everything to restore the connection and get a dial tone again. Now it works fine but I am loosing confidence in Fongo rapidly. At best it is a service for geeks. I never have go and fiddle with my router settings to keep my Internet connection going. It is available pretty much >90% of the time. An uptime completely acceptable. The problems described in this thread regarding the voice service are randomly recurring. Even if it is free, this service is NOT acceptable. To top it up the switch to voice mail is not always working either. Instead of the call going to voice mail, the caller gets a busy after up to 20 second or so delay. People just don't wait for 20 seconds! Instead I get a call on my cell that my (home) phone does not work. As for my plans to cut May Bell loose, they are on hold.

I must wonder if other VoIP phone services have similar problems or are these issues Fongo specific? I am quite willing to pay $10-15/mo for a reliable VoIP phone service.

By the way, the clock on this board is still on Daylight savings time!

It would be interesting to know if it is fixed or not and if not if someone is working on the problem. Because with the weekend and holidays coming plus the lack of answers from Fongo, I have the feeling that nobody is working on this.

According to FreeSWITCH, I can send registration requests but I am getting a 403 response code back.

OK. If there is a problem such as this one, Fongo users should receive an email not a posting on the bulletin board. I get emails from DCI telecom (my cell carrier) when something goes wrong or a planned maintenance is coming up and the estimated duration of the outage. Emails should also be sent out on the progress or lack of it on regular basis - say once a day at least. These emails could be packaged with appropriate apologies as well as some marketing messages to blunt the pain. Just to show that someone is working on the problem and the company cares.

I agree with that. Because now we are kept in the dark and we only learn when we try to use the phone and it doesn't work. Since the phone is an essential service nowaday it's kinda dangerous not to have any phones in case of emergency.

For nearly 2 weeks now, every 1 or 2 days I need to power cycle my SPA2102 and it then reconnects... I thought it was my ATA, and was going to try configuring my Cisco ATA186, but considering how many people have issues, I doubt it is my ATA...

Luckily it is on my second home line for the kids, so not as critical, but this doesn't help in getting the wife to agree to drop Bell on the main home line :(

If RGRS in your profile means Rogers, then be advised that they had a DNS blackout last night from Southern Ontario to Atlantic Canada, but should have been back early today.

I was not affected because I use OpenDNS and Google for my router DNS.

Remember that you need to have internet to make VOIP work. ;)

You can google Rogers DNS down 2013.

Fongo is working right now (at least for me). :)
