Fongo/Freephoneline over 2g way deep in Haiti

Post by julienvf »

Just for the record, I was in Haiti for a couple days on Digicel's 2G network and I could make calls with my iphone's SIP software and my freephoneline's SIP settings. It saved me and my family in law for sure a couple thousands dollars in roaming fees! I had a strong signal, calls went trhough but they had about a full second delay to talk/hear but that was more than I could expect! No more international roaming charges! I just paid Digicel about 1.25$ CAN for 500mb 2g/3g data per day which is impossible to bust in 2G and even in 3G, you gotta be on facebook or making facetime video calls all the time.
