Desktop App really needs audio configuration. Pretty basic feature for an app that primarily works with audio.
I've a Headset and Speakers and would like the following configuration:
Ringer: Speakers
Audio Out: Headset
Audio In: Headset mic
Using just windows default audio device doesn't really cut it. Won't be able to use this great service until audio config that allows the above is available.

Hi gregsaint,
this configuration would actually be done through your computers audio settings as opposed to the soft phone app.

Re: Audio Configuration
I'm sorry, but I don't think its possible to do just through the computers audio configuration. I'd be happy to be proven wrong if you care to describe how.

Re: Audio Configuration
No it's not possible to program ringing/headset/mic with a Java based program. If you want to have ring sent to speakers and voice sent to a second sound card (USB headset/BT headset) you will need to buy the SIP unlock and use a pc softphone such as Eye Beam. I use the old version 3 of Eye Beam as the newer version is, well, junk in my opinion.
There are many other softphones on the market that will allow you to assign ringing to one sound card, and voice to another. Just will need to do some trial and error to find one you like, but all of them will require you to buy the SIP unlock key.

Re: Audio Configuration
Zoiper Free gets my vote for softphone, even has a Fax ability built in. (Can fax any TIFF/TIF files).
There's a second Zoiper software called Communicator which I do not like as much but is still decent software depending on what you're comfortable with, there's also a commercial package I have not had the need to purchase, and if you're a programmer an available API to make your own modification of their softphone, or a softphone based on their code... OR a web-application softphone, neat stuff.
ANYWAY, point is, thirdparty software is necessary at this time which means SIP keys are necessary at this time, to have more granular control over how FPL/Fongo interact with your sound devices.
I believe that the DellVoice application has the requested feature, but DellVoice accounts are soft-phone only and do not have the option of purchasing a SIP key.
This is one of those features which I believe has been asked about on/off for a while, but hasn't been a #1 priority to develop. However I think it's a great idea, and would promote more people using the FPL software, and thus provide more face-time with the Fongo Phone's ad banners and thus greater revenue.

I didn't see that availability in the DV PC app yesterday when I was fiddling with it (first time in months!).Bloodsong wrote: I believe that the DellVoice application has the requested feature, but DellVoice accounts are soft-phone only and do not have the option of purchasing a SIP key.
