calls or texts not sent using the FONGO app

If I use the native android messages or phone apps will I be billed for non Fongo use? Do all texts and call have to go through the fongo app?

You will not be billed for sending messages, but that all depends on what application you use. If you use the Fongo app you will require a Text Msg Credits package. If you use for example Google Hangouts or Facebook Messenger, no you wont be charged since it only uses data.

I am more worried about sending messages and making calls outside the FONGO app.

I have been using a FIDO data only SIM and have been dinged once or twice when I e.g. make a call from my contacts app or call via
handsfree in my car or send a message using the normal android text app.

FIDO saw these as talk and text outside the data service and charged my a fee per message or per minute. I was wondering if I should be aware
of the FONGO / Rogers combination acting in the same manner.

I have the SIM card from Fongo as well, but I dont have any Credits, so whenever I try to send a SMS it says I cant. When I make a call with the Fongo app same thing should I call someone outside of the Fongo system (another country) says no World Lines Credits, so nothing goes through. The Fongo Sim is just data, only charges you could incur would if you exceeded your data plan limit.

I have never been charged anything unexpectedly, so you should be ok. Hope this helps you.

thanks . I have credits for international texts and some $'s on account for calls. These functions work well in
the FONGO app. Outside of the app is my issue ....thanks for the reply though
