Does credit card method support automatic payment?

If I add a credit card to my account, does it automatically pay my invoices the same way the paypal automatic billing does? Or will I still have to login an manually pay the invoice? I would prefer to remove the automatic billing from my paypal but not if it means I might miss a payment.
