Ever since the upgrade, at times on incoming calls, the caller gets a fast busy... Outbound, I can get my voicemail at all times, but no calls can be made that fall outside the freephone network.

I have 3 SIP accounts all are the same..

I'm using SIP... Are others having this issue as well?

For those of you that it is working now please share your settings. I have a pre-configured Thomson TG784 3-in-1 device which was purchased here and MWI is still not working for me. I used telnet to access the hidden settings of the modem and found that the (Notifier address = 0.0.0.0:0) was not filled out in the voice/sip/ section despite having the (Network MWI type = sollicited) in the voice/services section. It was my understanding that if the MWI network type was set to sollicited you also had to supply a Notifier address? I tried setting it to voip.freephoneline.ca:5060 but without any success. For the ones that are working, could someone confirm what your notifier address is?

I have also tried setting the Network MWI type to Unsollicited but without any effect.

I have been using FPL as my main phone at home and having no MWI is not very convenient.

OFF TOPIC:
1) Did anyone find out how to modify the "Ring Tone Voltage" on a TG784 ??? I would like to lower it slightly.
2) By telnet-ing into the voice/codec section of the TG784 and forcing the use of g729a by disabling all other codecs, incoming calls stop ringing the phone and goes straight to voicemail. Outgoing is fine however. Everything works normally when doing the same with 711u. This seems to be a bug....
Thanks for any advice.

Works for me too:

Code: Select all

Oct 23 09:35:05 voip HT502: [00:0B:82:18:1A:2E][1.0.1.63] Received SIP request NOTIFY (0)
Oct 23 09:35:05 voip HT502: [00:0B:82:18:1A:2E][1.0.1.63] Dispatching event: 37 (SIG_MWI) on port -1:-1
Oct 23 09:35:05 voip HT502: [00:0B:82:18:1A:2E][1.0.1.63] Voice mail for acct 1: 1/0
Glad it's resolved!

Qwerty, why would you want to change the ring voltage?

About the codecs, I think G729a is only available outbound (from us to FPL) while inbound it's other codecs that are used.

Hi,

Current bugs:

-when I call, it's anonymous name
-my voicemail password doesn't work, and whenever I go to admin options to store a new one, it saves, but then resets by itself to "none"
-i can't use a recorded name for voicemail
-forwarding voicemails to emails no longer works. actually whenever I save my preference from the FPL control panel, it just keeps on reverting to "none"

You will need to contact FPL-Steve or support to fix this, nothing you can do about it.

Laurent, I want to lower ring voltage because I have read that it could assist with the "high pitched buzz" that I am hearing on the line. I have called help support but got a bag-full of excuses on why this could happen and how it was probably caused by my setup. Honestly support seems better on this forum. So that you know, yes I am using a wireless phone however signal is clear when it is hooked up to the traditional line. I have tried changing codecs but it made no difference, and disabling the wifi on my 3-in-1 router didnt help either. Anyone, any ideas???

BTW, MWI still not working here as of today...

Wow, the CLI manual for your modemd clocks in at 946 pages. Not for the faint of the heart.

In any case, technically, adjusting ring voltage should only have an effect on ringing. The reason for that is that not all countries share the same ring electrical specifications, so I assume this parameter is there to ensure all your proper analog equipment, even if they're 70 years old, will still ring properly.

Do you have the noise when you call your voicemail too?

technically I get a slight sounds of snow per call, But nothing to worry that much about since the caller can not hear it. I even get echos once in awile or the caller tells me it echos and this is not in anyway the settings or the voip provider related...I have tested this so I know...when you hear a slight sound it can be caused by the old age of our wiring and how far the wiring from our home jacks is to the server and so forth.

See what happens on a rainy weekend?!

dutty.persian, and anyone else having these issues below, please email support@freephoneline.ca (or PM myself and FPL-Steve here); support@freephoneline.ca may surprisingly be the best option so we can consolidate all our bugs related to these topics in a nice list:

Voicemail to email settings not saving (Copy, Forward, None)
Voicemail password not saving (Local & remote access)
Voicemail greeting saving, but not playing

... essentially, anything to do with voicemail except MWI as this is fixed globally now :)

Thanks Laurent, yes I do have the same noise when I call voicemail. In fact I hear it even during dial tone... My home is a recent built and I wired my telephone myself with shielded CAT5E for telephone and CAT6 for networking (both as a star network). Cable length or age of cable is not a factor. Both my videotron phone modem and may FPL VOIP modem are located in the basement so the setup (cable length, jack, etc...) is the same during my tests. Clear line Videotron, faint buzzing on FPL. Everything else is perfect, I am sure the solution is hidden in the settings.

For this issue, please see http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1855 as it is unrelated to our upgrade.

When calling new Toronto remote access number (14164770355) I always get "that account number does not exist".

I've tried both 1-416-477-XXXX and 416-477-XXXX.

What is my account number?

Your account number would be your phone number with a 1 in front.
Can you PM me your number and your voicemail password? Feel free to set a temporary password for me if you don't want to disclose your primary one. I'd like to test and take a look here since my account seems to work fine.

Thanks Steve. PM sent.

Now it acts differently though. It accepts my account number but says the password is invalid.
