What about the Ping Plotter test is still showing the big packets loss on few hops , hopefully is not the promise of some other problem to come in the future-
Kris or Steve could you comment on this issue. Thanks :)
That's most likely just ICMP packets being dropped - nothing to worry about at all. We determined that said amount of packet loss is nothing unusual and wouldn't have attributed to this. Since the packet loss didn't carry through all the hops, that also shows that it's nothing major.

I'll have more information available by next week as I was out of the office on Friday.

It's working for me too.

I did not test intensivly but from the few call I made looking at the RTCP stats show no packet lost ( used to have between 6 and 10 a minute ).

Thanks for the fix !!!

Wow...seems crystal clear now! I haven't done a lot of calling since the switch replacement, but just listening to voicemail and hearing recorded messages, absolutely perfect - better than Bell!

Thanks guys!

Well, I don't know if it's a placebo effect but things are quite right here in Laval, Qc.

My girlfriend was complaining a bit before but now, I don't ear nothing from her :| . She did quite a few calls and everything seems to be Ok for now.
Things were not that bad but last weeks, we had cuts in every calls we did. We got use to it at some time.

Thanks guys. You did a great job and you stayed focus even though this thread got hot tempered at some times.

Cheers!

I was just on a 1 hour phone call and it was flawless.

tripico, confirm you have QoS setup so your phone device has priority on your internet connection or try plugging your ATA phone device directly into your modem as a test.

taken from an earlier post:
Confirm that you have QoS setup on your router to give your phone priority.
Or an easy test to do is plug your ATA phone device (your SPA) directly into your rogers modem, so the network cable goes from your modem, into your ATA.
Then unplug the power to both, wait 2 minutes, plug the power into the rogers modem, wait 2 minutes, then plug the power into your ata phone device, wait 2 minutes, then try making a call.
Try calling an 800 number and go through some menus, don't do the test with a cell phone.

Hmm.. All is good now... not sure what happened. I did have QOS setup. It was when I was driving and the wife called me on my cell and I was using a bluetooth.... then when I received a call from a friend, no echo.
Another thing, I had setup the service for my mom, but on her line, her dial tone always beeps fast 3 or 4 times before you get to a constant dial tone... she has the grandstream ATA device and a WRT54G router... any idea why its doing that ?

That sounds like she has a voice message. Get her to dial *98 (or her phone number) from her phone and see if there is one there.

Hey everyone following this issue,

Long time no post, I know, but anyways Steve and Admin Kris the issue has been completely solved from your end guys (once again thanks very much appreciated from our end as users) any one else who has issues, it will be most likely now related to there own setup (ie. ports not forwarded correctly, QoS not enabled or incorrectly configured, and so on......

Steve and or Kris I think this thread should be locked as at this point in time the issue has been solved

Thanks once again to Kris and Steve and the entire FPL Family who worked together to solve this issue Great Job!!
