May I suggest this be added to the Device Configuration forum. This then becomes a proactive approach so people can set the configuration to avoid getting those first crank calls from the getgo...

It's funny to come across this. I have a PAP2T and while I didn't have the issue described above I did have an issue with it spontaneously rebooting randomly. Sometimes days apart, sometimes hours. There is a setting much like what is described above in the PAP2T and once I enabled it all has been good. Hasn't rebooted in 17 days.

This will only affect users who forward port 5060 to their ATA. If using an ATA, this is not needed for most users. If port forwarding is off, incoming anonymous SIP calls will not reach the ATA. However most people on this forum swear that FPL will not work without port forwarding.

It all depends on the router. The ones that don't handle SIP well (*cough* DLINK *cough*) need 5060 forwarded. But, if you have a router that keeps the port open properly (anything running DD-WRT/Tomato or similar) then there is no need to forward. Let's put the blame where it needs to be, not on "most people" but on POS routers.
