Re: Dialpad - not working
I'm using the followng on my laptop:
Windows 7 Home premium x64
Java Standard Edition version 7 update 9 (build 1.7.0_09-b05) and yeah it's a 32-bit version. (Here's the link for reference: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 59586.html)
EDIT: I've uninstalled the offending Java RE and replaced them with both 32 and 64-bit versions of the Java Runtime Environment Update 29. This is the link on where I got that version: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 13650.html
My desktop however suffers the same fate, but that desktop is running this:
- Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
- Java 6 Standard Edition Version 6 update 37 (build 1.6.0_37_b06).
I also experienced that my DTMF tones are running for the first time on my laptop, which I was pleased. I hope that the homies at Fongo will provide the update for the latest version of Java Runtime Enviroment or whatever. What is the difference between Java Runtime Enviroment and Java Standard edition?
Also for my desktop, do I also need to install the 64-bit Java Runtime Enviroment on a 32-bit system? This is out of curiosity.
EDIT (again): I've just tried Java 7 Standard Edition on my same laptop in question. Installed both 32 and 64 bit versions on it. Still experiencing the same issue. While my Dell Voice cannot do the DTMF tones due to the Java update, my Freephoneline can be able to do DTMF, albeit without sound!

Is this forum being watched????
I dont understand why they claim to offer support if no one will answer any questions.
I understand that this is a free service, but it would be nice if it worked. At least give people an idea if there will be a fix for this problem anytime soon.

Re: Dialpad - not working
Thank you for responding. I asked the question because I have seen many questions go unanswered in this forum. I appreciate the fact that you gave a answer previous with a possible remedy, however based on the continued posts this is an ongoing problem, and should at least be addressed with a possible ETA on a solution.FONGO_mike wrote:Hi supa31,

At this time, we can not offer an ETA

Re: Dialpad - not working
I am at a loss that downgrading the version of Java is the 'work around'. There are applications running on my box that need the new version of java so installing the old version will mean that these apps no longer work.
It has been 6 months since this issue has been known to Fongo but it is obvious that they dont care about this issue, otherwise it would have been resolved already. Even if it is a large problem, is 6 months not enough time to address it?
Either your development team or the 3rd party developers have dropped the ball here. I am a programmer and if I created this mess, I would be given some time to fix the issue and if I was not successul, I would be fired. Maybe I should get a job at Fongo where creating functional apps is not that important

Re: Dialpad - not working
I uninstalled the most recent version of java and installed the jre-6u29-windows-x64. when I launch Dell Voice I get a mesage that says:
'Failed to load java VM Library (errno 193)'
The correct version of Java is installed and still the softphone does not work. Piece of crap.

Re: Dialpad - not working
I had this problem before. After I installed the JRE-6U25. Everything back to normal.
This is a VERY OLD issue.
If this is not good for you, just try different version of Java.

Re: Dialpad - not working
I know this has been a problem for a LONG time, but I just loaded up the new version of the FPL softphone app, and it works fine on my computer. Windows 7, latest version of Java.
Hopefully this can be put to bed now. Is anyone still having problems after updating?

Re: Dialpad - not working
Hello,
I have problem with new Freephoneline Desktop Application 3.2.6.0.
When I call to somebody who is Freephoneline user, it's working OK,
but when I call to somebody outside Freephoneline-network I can not hear anything.
I punch number, I hear the tones, but once I hit the call button I don't hear anything further.
No rings, can't hear the person pick up, or voice mail prompts.
Thank you.

Re: Dialpad - not working
I was able to fix that same problem by modifying my hosts file to point to the backup voip server address. Info here:

Re: Dialpad - not working
newuser: you go here to make the changes; C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Locate the hosts file and open up with your notepad copy and paste this line to the hosts file : 208.65.240.165 voip.freephoneline.ca

Re: Dialpad - not working
I finally figured out how to configure port forwarding properly on my router and it works without the needing of hosts file.
check the screenshot if that helps you:

Re: Dialpad - not working
Does the IP address of the computer utilizing the FPL app need to be static IP or dynamic IP?
Re: Dialpad - not working
It would have to be static, otherwise the router will be forwarding the ports to the wrong (or no) device if the IPS get switched around.sncbhle18 wrote:Does the IP address of the computer utilizing the FPL app need to be static IP or dynamic IP?
