Both My FPL Lines are Down

Post by MichaelVoIP »

This morning both my FPL lines are down. I cannot make any calls. They both show that they are registered with the voip.freephoneline.ca server in my SPA122, but any outgoing calls, even FPL to FPL calls or calls to *98 (voice mail), are greeted by a long silence and then a reorder (fast busy) tone. However, incoming calls seem to proceed fine and the MWI works ok. I rebooted my ATA with no success. What is going on, FPL?

I also tried my FPL credentials on Bria on my iPhone and it was a no go, too. The lines register with some difficulty - sometime I get a DNS error message - but then, when I try to place a call, the request times out.

Last night at 23:30 everything was fine.

Same here. Thornhill ON.
What is going on ?!!!
As usual no announcements on outages, no support.
It starts getting on my nerves, given the fact that I always pay the FPL for the long distance minutes (to make sure they stay in business)!

Give us our phone lines back !!!!!

YES, same here !!!

EDIT: ...This morning, March 22,2013, my FPL line is down. I can not CALL OUT ?. the line appears to show that it's registered with the voip.freephoneline.ca server in my SPA2102,"
Also, my home phone displays a "New Voice Message" is waiting, but when I check it (via *98) it appears to dial out and then it's just dead air.

EVERYTHING worked fine last night.

So, WHAT IS GOING ON with freephoneline again ?!.\
Please fix this asap.

Same thing in Mississauga.

Both my FPLs were working around midnight last night.

Here are my symptoms:

1. Both FPLs are registered.
2. *98 doesn't work.
3. I can't make outgoing calls
4. Incoming calls come in, but I have one way audio only.

I've found that my ingoing and outgoing calls both function properly when I change my Proxy and Outbound Proxy settings (on Linksys PAP2) to voip2.freephoneline.ca (rather than voip.freephoneline.ca).

Hi there,

It should work on both servers.

Please verify- you might need to restart your ATA.

Thanks,

I agree. They should both work. Tried both servers. voip2.freephoneline.ca; tested - works. voip.freephoneline.ca; tested - no outgoing calls.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I hope they fixed it!

I can confirm that both lines are working now on Bria, on my iPhone, using voip.freephoneline.ca (not voip2.freephoneline.ca). I'm not at home to test my lines through the SPA122 but, given that the lines were not working on Bria in the morning either, and they work now, I am confident that everything should be back to normal.

Could someone please confirm this? Thanks.

I had the same problem this morning and I can also confirm that voip.freephoneline.ca is now working again for both in- and outbound calls.

Apparently I had the same issue. I was playing with my configuration settings last night and thought I'd broken something. Got some grief from the wife about it this morning.

Ok yes, "outgoing" calls are, at this moment, now working for me again.

Thanks.
