Getting "That password is not valid" on Softphone

Post by rlongfield »

I have been using FPL for about a year and everything is going well. Few minor things but nothing to make me run.

Up until about April of this year I was able to use my FPL account on my Android phone with any softphone app, I personally liked Zoiper. Well I accidentally cleared all the data for Zoiper on my phone and since then whenever I try to connect I get the "That password is not valid" message when I try to make a call.
The softphone registers just fine, the problem kicks in when I try to call out. Calls coming in are not picked up by my softphone either.
I have tried a few different softphone apps all with the same results.

My ATA box works just fine.

I'm hoping someone has an answer for this. It was very handy when in Florida to call family with a "local" call

You must have your usename or password entered wrong. There shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't work.

Things to check/look out for.
1. Your username is your FPL number WITH the initial 1.
2. Watch out for letters that look like numbers, and letters that look like other letters (o0O 1lI). I copy the password into something like notepad which makes the characters easier to read.
3. If you copy and paste the password, extra whitespace could be added to the end (spaces and sometimes line breaks).

Thanks for the notepad trick! I think I found the problem in the password. lowercase 'L' and uppercase 'I' looked an awful lot a like both in the email and in the SPA112 browser window.

I find the copy pasting the password into the search bar in my browser makes this easier. Then all i need to do is remove the white (blank) spaces if there are any and paste it in.
