Cannot make outgoing call to YAK

I'm trying to make an call to YAK home phoneline but it always say "This account is not valid". However people on other phone (such as rogers, bell, etc) can make a call to YAK number. Now, on the other hand my parents was able to call freephoneline using their YAK number.

I suspects this has to do with some settings or maybe it's something Fongo has to configured on their end.

Has anyone encountered this? If so, have you found a solution to it. Please help!

Yes. The solution is not to use FPL/Fongo because they do not support it. See link. It may apply to you.

The number I'm calling is just a local number and it starts with 416-XXX-XXXX

Hi,

I suspect that the number you are trying to call was a FPL number in the past and it ported out to Yak.

Looks like it was not ported properly.

The owner of that number needs to contact Yak and report this issue.

Yes this use to be a FPL number in the past. You might be right.

That makes no sense. How can Yak fix a ported-out number that is still active on FPL's network? Isn't this FPL's responsibility?

Hi,

The problem is that the number is not active in FPL network(it was ported out), however it is active in one of the switches were FPL has no access. This can only be resolved between carriers.

This is a porting issue and must be resolved by current provider of that number.

But all this does no make sense. We are still call this number from Rogers, Bell, etc...

I just called YAK and they said all looks good on their end. They said the port they're using is 8700. I"ll open a ticket and complain to FPL.
