Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
My softphone after the upgrade doesn't seem to work too well when I receive calls.
Basically I hear a ring as if someone is calling but I don't get a popup stating who is that person is. I have to go to fpl website to see who is calling me.
Hopefully this gets resolved soon!

Still cannot take incoming calls
I am using an Aastra 6731i phone that worked great before the network upgrade.
Now, all incoming calls go to voicemail. Outgoing is fine. I suspect that there is some change to the way my phone registers on the freephoneline.ca server, but I cannot find the magic configuration change to make it work. Can you give me some clues as to how I might fix this based on the changes made on your end? I am using voip.freephoneline.ca as the registrar server....

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
I really think ummm you guys should think about switching back at this point to the old system and we just gotta deal with what we dealt with in the past so many years cause everything worked fine until the upgrade with no probs at all and now it just seems 1 problem after another since the upgrade ...
just my own thoughts

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
My outgoing calls still drop after 30-40 seconds, useless. Duration shows as ZERO!

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
I am solely using the softphone and my Voice mail has been down on and off since the upgrade.admin wrote:Voicemail is now functional, sorry for the inconvenience guys.
When I call Voicemail, it tells me to "Please hang up and try again".
I still get my messages though. On the freephoneline.ca website, in the "Change Details" section, there is an option to have them sent to my email inbox where I can listen to the Voicemail messages or download the .au (audio) files.

Same here, calling *98 from SIP or the Softphone gives the same result: "Please hang up, and try again."

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
Hi. What's going on with the voice mail again today? 2 days now all I get is a message to please hang up and try again. When can we expect the services to start working normally again?
Can their admin's and network suport people not just create some type of Network Status button on the home page of both the www.freephoneline.ca website and the forums for people to get an idea of what's working, or not, with the system instead of having to wade through pages of postings?
It sure would make life a whole lot easier and more efficient.
Thank you.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
Hi Freephoneline Support,
I purchased my FPL configuration file and ATA long time ago, it was working good in the past, but not sure why recently I can't receive incoming calls - I tested it - the symptom is when I call from a land line to my FPL number, I simply get disconnected and no voice mail access at all. But outgoing calls are okay - I never changed anything on my ATA, please check accordingly and please fix the problem. Thanks.
Btw, below is the previous post in this thread about this issue - I believe I got same problem as the user "UD3046" posted:
FPL - In coming calls can not be taken...

Oct 6th, As reported to support - FPL - In coming calls can not get through. They also can not excess voice mail. (never makes it to voice mail). Out bound calls are okay. Hope is it fixed by morning!!.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
" Please hang up and try again"
A frustrated message from voice mail prompt while trying to access voice mail with *98 on softphone.
It was fixed for two days and then come up again.
A very unstable software upgrade and risking all customers and FPL credential.
Please seriously consider falling back to previous version and fully test the new software before next upgrade.
FPL suppose doing business with customers seriously, even thought freephoneline is a free residential service, however, most of the users are potential business customers of their CLEC business, the reputation on this services quality will definitely affecting their decision when doing business with FPL CLEC counter part.
I would be appreciated if FPL can treat this upgrade seriously. Fall back seems a most variable option to get away all the problems.
We haven't seen the good things the upgrade bring to us such as any enhancement feature, however, we have been suffered for 5 days without a full fix.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
We appreciate the nature of this upgrade being on such a large scale as it was, and bringing along the minor (yes, minor) bugs that were previously remedied on our previous platform by various patches that seem to have dissolved with the upgrade; however, this new platform has indeed greatly increased the amount of space we have to 'fool around' with call load, expand termination and grow into a bigger, brighter horizon.
Unfortunately, for the time being we'll have to tough it out here at freephoneline while trying to catalog our end users complaints, criticisms, and woes in a constructive manor for future improvements based on your feedback, as this new platform and upgrade is an integral part of our service and though we are experiencing some unforeseeable bugs and glitches here and there, the upgrade is irreversible - Going back at this point would (yes) be two or three steps back as the redundancies that this new system allows for, along with features now supported which were previously marked as bugs (T.38 fax-to-email) far exceed the potential bugs we may (and have) encountered.
I must also stress that we here at freephoneline do not take our name in vein, being the free in freephoneline. It is unfortunate that we have experienced the bumps over the last year that we have and do apologize for these inconveniences. I can assure you that FPL-Steve and myself, and of course the rest of the team here at freephoneline are striving to be the provider you, and the rest of our fellow Canadians wish us to be while still remaining free of cost or at very little to our customers.
I will be posting an announcement within this thread, pertaining to our struggles throughout the upgrade process and our plan to resolve these annoyances that have appeared since doing so on Tuesday when we all return to the wonderful world of work; for now, everyone enjoy what is left of your long weekend.

I do apologize for taking this out of context, as perhaps there is more to this that simply implying we do not particularly care about the feedback we're receiving and the negative impact on all of our affiliated services this may have. We do, I can promise you that we take all of your feedback into consideration as a growing company we feed off the wants and needs of our customers as you all have graciously offered to us.sl9280 wrote:I would be appreciated if FPL can treat this upgrade seriously.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
Here we go again !
I had everything working fine on Friday night and left for the week-end.
Now I'm back to not hearing sound when I call ( other person hear me ). If I receive a call it's fine both ways.
I did spend several hours fixing the problem on Friday and now something changed again.
I would like more transparency on what is being changed. Now I'm back to sip trace again and reverse engineering to figure out what is going on as technical support on the phone is useless as I learned the hard way.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs
It is good to hear that you were able to fix your one-way audio last Friday.techevo wrote:Here we go again !
I had everything working fine on Friday night and left for the week-end.
Now I'm back to not hearing sound when I call ( other person hear me ). If I receive a call it's fine both ways.
Just curious, does one-way audio happen if you connect your PAP2T directly to your modem?

Hi Admin,
Incoming calls still not working for me - incoming calls simply can't get through, can't be taken... (but outgoing calls are ok) - can you please take a look the problem on my account - I've sent you and email and PM'd you, my account is 16042835xxx, thanks,
