Hello,
My phone is acting very wired. whenever I call someone and he/she does not pick up the phone, A redial is initated on its own for three times without any intereface from me. during these three times if some one picks up no voice is heard on my side and after 10 seconds the line cuts on its own. Please help me as it is very annoying that the phone calls people on its own for three times. this problem does not appear if the other end answers from the first attempt.
Thanks,
Moe
Automatic Redial for 3 times
Re: Automatic Redial for 3 times
A few questions to help us figure this out:
1 - Are you using our software package or an ATA?
2 - Do you have a router?
3 - When did this problem start? Has it ever behaved otherwise?
4 - Does this problem happen to any number you dial, or just certain numbers/area codes?

Re: Automatic Redial for 3 times
Routers can tend to provide interesting problems at times. The ports used by your ATA are likely the default: UDP 5060 for Line 1 and UDP 5061 for Line 2. Open these on the router for your ATA and there should be less issues. If the issue remains the same or if it changes, please mention it here and we can go on from there.

Re: Automatic Redial for 3 times
Hi,
I noticed what seems to be the same problem. If the other side doesn't pickup, FPL seems to retry calling them. However, since the initiating call (on my end) is already closed, even if the other party answers, the line is "dead" there is no connection on the other side.
Since I've played with VOIP servers a while, I have noticed similar behavior when using RetryDial instead of Dial in order to connect calls with Asterisk. I wonder if, with a view to increase robustness, FPL is using some sort of RetryDial application instead of simple Dial, which keeps trying even when the originating call is shut off?
I hope somebody can shed light on this. Thanks!
