freephoneline Desktop Application is Not Working

Post by sleep_stunner »

My freephoneline software for Windows is not working. I tried making phone calls to my house with the freephoneline software, but it never gets through to my house, it just says "calling ######" and it doesn't get through. When I call my freephoneline number with my home land line phone, it will just ring once than it will go into voice mail. What's wrong here?

I just tried mine and it is working OK here.

When the program is up and running do you see 'My Number (your number)'?
I would also uninstall it and reinstall the app just in case.

Yep I do see the "My Number (my number)" messege when the program is up and I just re-installed the program, but it still doesn't work. Also I did do a test connection and it says "Results: Timeout expired! Data transfer: Unable to send/receive sound data! Port 13000 should be available." I did open UDP ports 13000, 13001, 5060, 5061, 6060 and 6061 for incoming and outgoing on my firewall as suggested, but it still does not work. Any suggestions? Could it be that sip traffic is filtered on my internet connection?

It is also possible it is set-up in your computers security settings to have the ports blocked even if they are open in your router/modem.

Actually it's the other way around, I did opened those ports on my PC, but I am not sure how to do so on my router. I have a Linksys/Cisco router, if anybody can help me out with that. Also, is it a possibility that SIP is blocked by my ISP?
