Hi all new here and 13000 port problems

Post by gvpeach »

I have downloaded the newest version, and nothing. I have done this twice. I even went as far as to make my PC static ip, and use that through my router. Nadda so I just re-installed the program, but it still doesn't work. Also I did do a test connection and it says "Results: Timeout expired! Data transfer: Unable to send/receive sound data! Port 13000 should be available." I did open UDP ports 13000, 13001, 5060, 5061, 6060 and 6061 for incoming and outgoing on my firewall as suggested, but it still does not work. Any suggestions?

Did you open the ports or did you specifically give access to the soft phone to be able to access?

hey Fongo_Mike, I opened the ports and allowed them from the router, I also did the static IP, and added that. I went into firewall and allowed exceptions for all the ports, 13000,13001-5060,5061,& 6060,6061. I am somewhat of a newbie for this phone thing, but I can get around a computer not to bad. This has just got me stumped and a few other choice words. Any or all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Can you please open a command prompt on your PC and type this:

ping voip.freephoneline.ca

and

ping voip2.freephoneline.ca

Please post the output here

Thanks,

Disable your software firewall, and see if that fixes your problem. You are already behind a router, with is a much better hardware firewall, so a software firewall tends to be worse than useless.

Try giving permission to the softphone (specifically) in your firewall to allow it access. Ping test results show all packets are failling which could mean that the needed port is blocked.
