I've been getting VERY low volumes both on my end and the callers end. Even when they leave a voicemail or I have the call forwarded, neither party can hear one another and the call always needs to be placed using a standard phone line.
Any ideas why this is happening or how it can be corrected? I use the softphone and all my volumes on it are set to max.
Thanks.

Re: Very low volume on both sides
Just to start with the basics, you say your softphone volumes are turned up. Have you also checked your windows sound volume and any soundcard volumes? On my system, the soundcard control panel functions independently of the windows sound settings. I had it one day where my soundcard volumes were full and I couldn't hear anything - turns out my windows volumes got turned down.
I know it seems basic, but a lot people tend to overlook the simple things when starting out Keep in mind the softphone volume dials run the softphone volume - not the actual soundcard itself.
Check those out and report back.

Yes, volume's on my PC are high... much higher than I feel comfortable with as all other applications are very loud now.mindabsence wrote:Just to start with the basics, you say your softphone volumes are turned up. But even if I get a call that goes to voicemail or is forwarded to a landline, the volume is so low, you can barely make out the words. How can those volumes be adjusted if they aren't passing through the softphone or windows?
