Incoming FPL calls at SipSorcery NOT working

Post by raj2ras »

I've tested out an incoming call to my FPL number and the request is making it to the sipsorcery server but the address it's arriving to is malformed and it cannot be routed to the sipsorcery account.

The full incoming request is shown below. The problem is the very first line:

INVITE sip:16042835797@208.65.240.44:5060 SIP/2.0

The sipsorcery server does not recognise the 208.65.240.44 address so rejected the call. It's completely incorrect for the call URI to be specified like that it should be sipsorery.com or 67.222.131.147 or another domain that the sipsorcery server recognizes. This problem cannot be fixed at the sipsorcery end. Can Fongo/FPL please resolve this?

Is that what Aaron @ sipsorcery told you?

I don't have an account with SIP Sorcery and don't want to spend time testing.
If no one else responds, you can also try asking at https://www.dslreports.com/forum/voip
Can Fongo/FPL please resolve this?
They're not obliged to read these forums.
You would need to submit an online ticket and ask for someone to take a look: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. If no one responds to your support ticket after 48 business hours, provide the ticket number in a private message to Fongo Support: http://forum.fongo.com/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=7852.

I edited the phone number in your post for privacy.
Please do not send me emails; I do not work for nor represent Freephoneline or Fongo. Post questions on the forums so that others may learn from responses or assist you. Thank you. If you have an issue with your account or have a billing issue, submit a ticket here: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Visit http://status.fongo.com/ to check FPL/Fongo service status. Freephoneline setup guides can be found at http://forum.fongo.com/viewforum.php?f=15.

Thank you. Yes Aaron was kind enough to test it for me. The problem started 1 month after FPL changed (or disallowed?) IP address for SIP registration server. Have been using FPL for years with SipSorcery, but now I am unable to get incoming calls :-(

If it was
as is standard procedure, there would be no problem.

Note that FPL incoming calls work with ATAs and SoftPhones as I think they don't care re. the INVITE string. Per Aaron, SipSorcery cannot match the incoming calls to the right account/binding as it gets rejected due to incorrect INVITE.

Then you have no other other choice but to submit a ticket and hope someone looks into this.

I did start a ticket. But they just closed it! :-( They say the only support for FPL is via this community forum.

They are just promoting the Fongo Home Phone with their locked ATA.

Are you sure that wasn’t an automated response?

You can try sending a private message to http://forum.fongo.com/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=7852 with your ticket number.

If it is an issue with FPL, obviously other forum members can’t help you.

It's not a group. It's Fongo Support. And yes, I am able to send private messages to Fongo Support provided I'm logged in to these forums first.

Click http://forum.fongo.com/memberlist.php?m ... ile&u=7852.
Then click on the send private message link. Or just click http://forum.fongo.com/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=7852 instead.

I had a similar problem recently, and I fixed it by using the hostname (one of the voip.freephoneline.ca ones) as the SIP server in SIPSorcery instead of the IP address. There were some flaky DNS issues that caused problems with that at the beginning, but then it worked.

208.65.240.44:5060 is voip.freephoneline.ca:5060 currently. I don't see the former IP listed anywhere in the log that was posted.
