[Solved] Number rejected by the service provider. Reason 487

Postby curt » 03/29/2020

My Freephoneline has been working fine for several years.

I found out today that if someone phones my number, there is no voicemail. Instead, after several rings, it plays the following:

The number you dialled XXX-XXX-XXXX was rejected by the service provider. Reason is 487.

I dialled my own number to go into the IVR and recorded my greeting successfully. But this did not fix the problem.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Login at https://www.freephoneline.ca/voicemailSettings.
Change "rings before voicemail" to what you want.
Click "update". (This is the important step.)
Test again.

There's currently an ongoing issue involving voicemail notifications: https://status.fongo.com/.

That worked. Thanks!

It was set to 5. I changed it to 3 and it worked. I changed it back to 5 and it worked.

My issue was not voicemail notifications, but the lack of voicemail picking up the call. Is Fongo having issue with this as well?

I suspect simply clicking "update" fixes the problem, but I have no way of testing anymore since my FPL accounts work.

All Freephoneline accounts require voicemail to be "updated" as a result of work done during the server transfer: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=19702.
That issue is easily fixed.

But there's an ongoing voicemail notification issue that's affecting everyone (including me) as well: https://status.fongo.com/.
I recommend enabling "voicemail to email" at this time to ensure you, at least, receive an email notification: https://support.freephoneline.ca/hc/en- ... o-my-email.
