[Resolved]you reached the limit for simultaneous calls
While I was trying to place a call, the system voice is telling me "you reached the limit for the simultaneous call", then disconnect me, the thing is that there are no other calls that are active.
Tried everything to fix it, including disable call forwarding, unplug, and cisco VoIP adapter, but nothing can fix it.
LiptonBrisk Edit:
Freephoneline has a 2 channel limit per account. Two calls haven't disconnected because BYE hasn't been received or processed properly somewhere along the path.
Call duration limit is 3 hours with Freephoneline. So, within 3 hours, your service will work again.
For those experiencing problems, submit a ticket: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Make sure you provide your account phone numbers.
Also, provide the phone numbers of the people who've contacted you recently before the problem started, and it may also help if you happen to know the carrier on the other end of the call.
It might be a good idea to let Fongo Support know what numbers are likely culprits so that they can try to narrow down which carrier (Rogers, for example) is involved in the problem. Thank you

voip.freephoneline.ca does not work for incoming calls at the moment. Incoming calls will go straight to voicemail.
voip2.freephoneline.ca and voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 work perfectly fine for both incoming and outgoing calls.

While it's possible the problem is related to the issue that started around Sept. 3rd involving using voip.freephoneline.ca for incoming calls, I'm not sure anything from April 6th applies, in all honesty (which was also an incoming call issue). This appears to be a maximum channels used issue, which would also affect outgoing calls.
You might want to login at https://www.freephoneline.ca/doGetCallLogs to check the current month to see whether there's any calls you don't recognize. If there are, I would be concerned.
You might also want to check disconnect reasons listed.
Although, FPL offers a maximum of 2 channels (you can have a maximum of two concurrent calls) per account, I don't think I've heard the error message that's described before from FPL.
Until I can reproduce it, I have no further comment.

You've reached a limit for the number of simulatneous calls
Hi Everyone !
As of 12mp today (Oct 1) I am getting a message "You've reached a limit for the number of simultaneous calls". Never had it before, and didn't change my configuration in any way.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I tried voip2 and voip4 with port 6060, but getting the same error.

FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
Hello,
I noticed that as of a few minutes ago (approx. noon MT), I am no longer able to dial out or receive calls on my FPL line (via Obihai 200). I had previously called someone (outbound) about 5 minutes prior and it worked fine.
When I try to dial out, it says "you've reached the limit for the number of simultaneous calls". If I try to call my own number from my cell phone, it does not go to voicemail - it just says "the user you are trying to reach is unavailable".
Tried restarting my Obihai just in case but that did not fix the issue. I do not see any outages reported at the moment on status.fongo.com. Also, I checked and another service I have on SP2 of my Obi200 is working fine. Wondering if anyone else is having issues?

Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
Yep, same thing is happening to me starting 12pm EST.
Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
Also, just to update, I have completely unplugged my Obihai from the wall, but when I dial my number from my cell phone, it is not going to voicemail anymore. Just says the number is not available.

Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
I use voip4 for the server (due to previous connection issues from a few years ago).
Nothing suspicious on my logs.
Another suspicious thing was that someone told me they left me a voicemail around 11 AM, but nothing arrived in my email (like usual) and when I logged into the FPL portal, it didn't show a voicemail. However, around 1:15, I received the email about the 11 AM voicemail, and when I checked the voicemail list on FPL portal, it was showing at that time. So something clearly stalled out on their server. The MWI surprisingly did activate on my phone at 1:15 as well, but it wouldn't let me dial my voicemail or any other number... When I deleted the voicemail from the FPL portal, the MWI on my phone turned off. What that did tell me was that the connection to the server from my Obi is still working in some capacity.
Given that even when I unplug my Obi, and dial my number from my cell phone, it doesn't go to voicemail, it makes me think it's likely something on FPL/Fongo's end.

Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
The error means that the maximum number of channels is being used, which is 2 with Freephoneline per account. I have no idea why FPL believes you have two concurrent calls in use.
Maybe BYE isn't being received somewhere along the path.

Yes, very weird... I still think they have something going on with their end... Doesn't make sense that even if I was using two channels, it wouldn't route incoming calls to voicemail when my Obi is unplugged.Liptonbrisk wrote:The error means that the maximum number of channels is being used, which is 2 with Freephoneline per account. Maybe BYE isn't being received somewhere along the path after a call ends, keeping connections open.

Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
I got a voicemail around 2pm EST. Made a call around 3:30pm EST.
But now all I get is the message "you reached the limit for the simultaneous call", even trying to check voicemail (*98) give same message. I tried voip and voip2 and made no difference. Incoming calls say that "caller is not available".

Okay, so the maximum call duration is 3 hours. At some point, those 2 calls will be disconnected.
The problem is figuring out which carrier is involved in the problem.

BYE isn't being received somewhere, so the call can't end properly until the 3 hour time limit is reached. Unplugging your ATA won't help.

I just started receiving this message this afternoon after rebooting my ATA. My FPL account shows that I am registered, even when the ATA is unplugged! I tried using an Android SIP app with my SIP credentials and get the same voice message about reaching the limit for simultaneous calls. UPDATE: A few hours later, I started to be able to call and receive calls again using the Android app, and my FPL account shows that I am connected to a different SIP User agent ... so maybe all is back to normal.yyynoworking wrote:While I was trying to place a call, the system voice is telling me "you reached the limit for the simultaneous call", then disconnect me, the thing is that there are no other calls that are active.
Tried everything to fix it, including disable call forwarding, unplug, and cisco VoIP adapter, but nothing can fix it.
Re: FPL Not Working Outgoing or Incoming
By coincidence, I just hit the 3 hour mark. And my phone seems to be working again. I dialled out from my FPL line 3-4 times (to my cell phone as a test) and it worked each time. Tried dialing in, and it worked fine too. Also, when I call my FPL number, it is now going to voicemail again.Liptonbrisk wrote:jarfgames wrote:

So at least for now, I seem to be back online. Will post an update if it goes down again.
