Thanks for the heads-up! Stay safe, everyone.

incoming calls goe to voicemail

I realize there was a system maintenance this morning but as of 11AM this morning incoming calls go to DIRECTLY to voicemail using the server " voip.freephoneline.ca " . I rebooted the ATA and result was the same, no incoming calls. Outgoing calls works fine.

I changed the server port to " voip2.freephoneline.ca " and incoming calls now work fine and well as of course outgoing which always worked.

I have submitted a ticket to support advising them of my findings.

Thought I would make a post in case anyone else is experiencing issues. Another account (daughters) also goes directly to voicemail. So I suspect I am not the only one having problems then.

[Resolved] No Incoming Calls - on voip.freephoneline.ca

Can't receive inbound calls since maintenance window. It was working fine last night. I've rebooted the box and I am able to make outbound calls.

Same here.. Outbound calls are fine. Inbound go straight to voicemail Just rebooted ATA and no difference.

EDIT: As mentioned in another thread, "I changed the server port to " voip2.freephoneline.ca " and incoming calls now work fine...."

For now it is working using voip2

How did you make the change?

How did you make the change?
Depends on your ATA. It would be in your ATA configuration.
If you have an Obi device however, and you configured it through their portal, you would need to change it from their portal instead since it pushes config from portal instead.

I was registered on voip4.freephonline.ca:6060 all week, so I didn't notice.

I was able to reproduce the issue.
I reached out.

voip.freephoneline.ca server has been rebooted, and it's working now.

If it doesn't work for you, change local SIP Port or X_UserAgentPort in your non-Grandstream ATA or IP Phone to a random number between 30000 and 60000.
Save. Then power cycle your device.

Problem is resolved.

There's another planned maintenance scheduled later.

Scheduled - Temporary Downtime for Fongo Mobile, Fongo Home Phone, and FreePhoneLine Scheduled for Jan 19, 00:00 - Jan 19, 06:00 (EST)
Scheduled - 2nd System Maintenance/Upgrade: Users may experience downtime (not able to make/receive calls & voicemails) for 1-2 hours during the window of time specified. No action is required by users.

Upon reading that it was resolved I have changed my ATA back to the " voip.freephoneline.ca " server. All is working fine again.

Thanks for the information Liptonbrisk.

Hello gents, got the same problem here (no incoming calls), AND since yesterday afternoon I get weird calls from impossible numbers like 8950, 910000005642, 9720000005642. I also got one around 3AM, disconnected the phone for reasons (sleep, anyone ?), then reconnected the phone this morning. I disconnected and reconnected the power in my Obihai device to reset it, but every 10-15 mins I still get those weird calls, no sound, different ring tone than usual. Should I switch to voip2.freephoneline.ca too ?

Something weird happened upon trying to move a post out of this thread and then attempting to merge another thread into this one. Hanke's original post disappeared. My apologies.

I'm suddenly seeing the same issue again on voip.freephoneline.ca.
I'm doing some more testing before I reach out

voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 works
voip2.freephoneline.ca works
voip.freephoneline.ca does not work at the moment for incoming calls

Contacting someone...

I reached out again.
After server reboot, voip.freephoneline.ca works again for incoming calls. I'm uncertain what the cause is.

If it doesn't work for you, change local SIP Port or X_UserAgentPort in your non-Grandstream ATA or IP Phone to a random number between 30000 and 60000.
Save. Then power cycle your device.

There's no issue with voip.freephoneline.ca at this moment, and there wasn't one at the time you posted.

If switching servers worked, the most likely causes include

A. NAT association between your router and ATA becoming corrupted, or

(Solution a. In your PAP2T, Navigate to Line-->SIP settings, change SIP Port to a random number between 30000 and 60000. If that works, your router caused the problem.)

B. being temporarily IP banned for making too many registration attempts within a short interval

(Solution b. Change proxy server, and ensure your failed registration retry interval in your ATA is 120 seconds.
Navigate to Voice-->SIP-->SIP Timer Values
Reg Retry Intvl should be 120 seconds.
Register Expires in your ATA also needs to be 3600, but it probably is.)

Thread closed.
