If you want to check whether a most recent incoming call has reached your ATA, log into your ATA and navigate to Voice-->Information-->Last Caller Number.
I clicked every link in my ATA because the above isn't there, but there isn't any kind of caller info, anything that looks like the above at all. I've never needed it before, so it's probably no great loss.
Thanks for the tip about the odd-looking numbers and scanners. I can't recall ever seeing a number like that before, but in case I do, I have all that other info you've given me.
Since I replaced voip4 with voip, I haven't had the dead air problem at all. Fingers crossed that that was the problem.
