That's pretty vague. I would try to discover the specific reason.
Do you have a suggestion for me?
Other than obtaining the specific reason why porting wasn't successful, I don't, unless you filled out a field on a form incorrectly.
This has been my number forever, and I only came over to FFO because I was told that I would have no problems if I ever wanted to transfer it.
People have transferred out from Fongo/FPL.
I can't transfer my FPL number to providers that can't accept the transfer. That has nothing to do with Fongo--unless Fongo is blocking the port request.
Again, if Fongo is blocking the port request, you can file a complaint with CCTS:

A "technicality" that wasn't mentioned when I came over to FFO...
What's FFO? I'm not sure what that is.
Do you mean FPL (FreePhoneLine)?
I just had a thought. Can Fongo just release it back into the general pool of numbers so Eastlink can grab it?
You would lose affiliation (your name and address would no longer be associated with that phone number; I guess most people would consider this ownership, but people don't own phone numbers) with that number, and then you wouldn't be able to port it anywhere. Also, I fail to see what difference that would make.
The number would still be with Fibernetics (Fibernetics is the CLEC for Fongo/FPL), regardless. Nothing changes. All numbers are associated with a carrier.
