Been a FPL user for over a decade. Today I woke up to no dialtone. Rebooted both my ATA and my router and still having this issue.

Thanks.

"In Progress - Calling Platform Migration Scheduled for Nov 21, 00:00 - Nov 25, 00:00 (EST)

In Progress - Calling platform migration is in progress. Portions of the service that interact with the calling platform will be up and down intermittently all week. This affects Fongo Mobile, Fongo Works, Fongo Home Phone and Freephonline. Functionality related to new account signups and purchases of World Calling Credits will be down for the longest duration."

Given the circumstances, I don't see much point in troubleshooting at this time (at the moment, you can't connect to voip.freephoneline.ca).

I had same problem. Looks like the SIP proxy voip.freephoneline.ca is not working. Perhaps a DNS setting because it's not resolving.

Changed it to voip2.freephoneline.ca and now works.

same here, DNS lookup no result for voip.freephoneline.ca. My side shows registered but account page shows disconnected. Changed to voip2 no different.

I noticed that as well. Account page shows 'disconnected', but app shows registered. I have app set up on my PC + tablet. Changed to use voip2 on both and both show 'registered'. On PC using MicroSIP, I'm able to call out no problem. On tablet using CSipSimple, call is made but not completed - there is a voice message saying "that password is not valid".

same here, and at least 4 friends, too. voip.freephoneline.ca is not resolving.
voip2 seems to be working, thx

Update: voip2 works at one more friend, both show disconnected on the https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings page, though.

It's been impossible to register on 208.65.240.44 for most of the day, regardless. I don't know if that IP will change for voip.freephoneline.ca.
Using the Obihai 2xx ATA series failover guide, Obihai ATAs that were registered on voip.freephoneline.ca switched to voip2.freephoneline.ca or voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 automatically.

voip2 and voip4 worked today. I don't know whether they will continue working this week, but they did work today.

Keep an eye on https://status.fongo.com/

I would expect many aspects of these services to not function properly until maintenance has been completed.

Cannot receive voicemail

Good day everyone!

My ATA is working fine, no problems there. I can call and receive calls, but I'm having an issue with voicemail. Normally, when someone leaves a voicemail, I get it forwarded to my professionnal email address and it comes through as an attachment in the email and I can listen to it. Now, I still receive the email, but no audio file is attached. Furthermore, it seems I am not receiving ANY voicemail at all. I just tested it now by leaving myself a message. I called my number, the message comes on where I hear my voice and I then leave a message after the beep. I then accessed the voice mailbox through a Remote Access Number and it says I have no new messages! When clearly, I just left a message on the voicemail! This means customers have been leaving me voicemails but they've disappeared to some void somewhere!

I've tried contacting Fongo, but they say there's no support for FPL and they redirect me to pay per incident, but apparently the service is discontinued since June. How can I fix a problem that's clearly on Fongo's end?

The FPL desktop app for Windows doesn't register with the proxy server it uses at this time; so the desktop app is unusable at the moment.

Keep an eye on https://status.fongo.com/ for updates.

The FPL desktop app is working again, but https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings isn't reporting SIP status or SIP User Agent for the desktop app yet.

Incoming and outgoing calls are "operational": https://status.fongo.com/.

Voicemail is currently "degraded".

Okay, the desktop app's SIP Status is being updated eventually. It just takes a long time to appear (about 5 to 10 minutes later, after registering).

This is the reason:

Status is back to normal, except for customer support response time, so I am closing this thread.
