MWI and VMWI

Post by jenom »

Are MWI and VMWI supposed to work with FPL?
If the answer is NO, I better turn them of in my configuration.
Thanks!

The answer is yes, but they’re unsolicited. That is, the ATA should not be subscribing for MWI.
It takes up to 10 minutes for the indicator to appear after a message is left and up to 10 minutes to disappear after all messages are deleted.

I will give it a try, enable both and see what will happen....to see what my phone does....specially curious to hear the "stutter" tone.
10 minutes is better than have nothing at all.
Thank you for your reply !

So <voicemailSubscribeInterval>86400</voicemailSubscribeInterval> might be a problem for you. I'm not sure. I'm not sure if entering 0 disables voicemailsubscribe. You want to disable it. That setting defines the subscribe interval, but it doesn't tell me whether voicemailsubscribe is enabled. If it's not, I would expect voicemailSubscribeInterval to be ignored. Again, I have no clue because I don't have a manual for your ATA.

The bottom line is you don't subscribe to MWI with Freephoneline. Freephoneline sends unsolicited MWI.

<vmwiEnable>true</vmwiEnable>
<vmwiSignalingEnable>true</vmwiSignalingEnable>
Those shouldn't turn on MWI subscribe.

<voicemailSubscribeInterval>86400</voicemailSubscribeInterval>
That's just the interval. I would expect to see a URI entered for voicemailsubscribe or MWISubscribe, so maybe you're fine.
