Unable to recieve calls
Unable to recieve calls
Hi I am unable to receive calls
Last call I was able to get was on 2009-09-08 20:59:53.0
Now I am using the LINKSYS PAP2t (which I purchased through FPL) -
If I try to call my number it goes to voice mail or busy
Updated the firmware on the PAP to 5.16 Still no incoming calls
Calling out works fine
Please Help

Re: Unable to recieve calls
Port 5060 and 5061 forwarded to your ATA from your router? Keep in mind the ATA has a dynamic IP, so if you turn it off you will need to re-forward those ports to it's new IP address. There is a way to disable DHCP and give it a static IP, but I'm not sure how to do that off hand.
What ISP are you with?
Does your modem from your ISP also have a firewall feature too?

Re: Unable to recieve calls
My problem has gotten worse. I am now no longer able to make calls at times.
I am currently using Velcom for my ISP
I am using a thompson 516v6 in bridge mode. with a Dlink 514di router. the ports are fowarded with a static ip on the linksys pap. Sometimes I get lucky if powercycle my modem and router and the service will work for a short time. Other than that it goes straight to voice mail or busy signal.

Re: Unable to recieve calls
Hi,
I was also having problems with receiving calls so I tried Tony's setting and it fixed my issue. Totally!!!!
I would suggest to give it a try....

Re: Unable to recieve calls
I tried the suggestions from the post link above with limited success. Every time I go in change Ring Frequency and Voltage it seems to work for a time. But after a little while phone calls will no longer register. People who call me from a land line claim to get a busy signal or straight to voice mail. After I go in and change it again it seems to work for awhile, but then I am no longer able to receive calls after a while
Re: Unable to recieve calls
This might be similar to another post I replied to. Try changing the registration time down from 3600 to 60. When I was using a PAP2T it helped with this.eastman wrote:I tried the suggestions from the post link above with limited success. Re: Unable to recieve calls
I also applied the Register Expires: from 3600 to 60 and it works so far. I also removed the port forwarding on router just to isolate the problem and still working. That means the problem is the PAP2T Register Expires: settings.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Unable to recieve calls
This issue has come back to rear it's ugly head. I am no longer able to hear people once they call in I can no longer hear them. I have gone through and reset the PAP but then it stops working with a buzzing noise -then the Pap stops working all together I can get it working by reseting the Pap then I have to reconfigure it again. Can anyone help?

Re: Unable to recieve calls
some more detail's would be nice... internet (with whom, what plan, broadband box?), router (3rd party firmware installed? make and model) - ATA (PAP2T connected to router or hub). setting's of router's IP, port forwarding, DMZing¿? range of port forwarding, port trigger, QoS active?, PAP2T (IP address, Static or DHCP,)
I Had STUN setup and it made thing's worse.
some picture's are great too (this can be done on windows with Print Screen and paste it in paint shop)

Re: Unable to recieve calls
Have you make port forwarding already 5060-5061 and 10000-20000 in the UDP?

Re: Unable to recieve calls
personally i never had a problem setting my ATA's set to DHCP to grab an IP, and they alway's reverted back to that same IP. unless the network was down (computers off) and a new router was in place.. even then every computer on the network still had the same IP (they remember) when the change over was done. the only time it changed IP's, is when i changed network cards/MAC Address
Maybe its me or DD-WRT but DMZ never worked properly. neither did UPnP, and i don't know about QoS.
your registration should be set to 180.
what port did you set your ATA for(FPL)?
On the D-Link did you set PPPoE ? Yes he did.
what's DMZ set to?.. ATA?
Your Router is confusing abit.. you got Special Application and Firewall Rules.
OK, lets get this straight..
D-Link is set with PPPoE, DHCP is on¿, IP is 192.168.2.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, DMZ set to ATA (192.168.2.101), Firewall disabled, Nothing set in Special Application nor Firewall Rule.
PAP2T is set with(System) DHCP set to NO, IP 192.168.2.101, NETMASK 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.2.1, DNS1 192.168.2.1, DNS2 *.*.*.* some else would goes here ....
RTP Packet Size: 0.020 (SIP)
Ring Tone Frequency: 52 (Regional)
Ring Tone Voltage: 90 (Regional)
Port: 5060 (Line 1)
Inbound/Outbound Proxy: voip.freephoneline.ca (Line 1)
Username/Password (Line 1)
Registration Expires: 180 (60 is set here) (Line 1)
