Can't Install WindowsXP x64

Hi,

I just downloaded the latest version of your software from your website freephoneline.exe version 2.1.0 and tried to install it on my Windows XP Pro x64 OS, but when I click on the executable to install it, windows gives me "FreePhoneLine cannot be installed on systems earlier tan Windows Vista x64".

Can I have feedback on that, and possibly the location of an earlier version of the software that will install on XPx64?

From what I've been able to dig up by asking around the office here, it looks like x64 support started at Vista for us. Due to the fact that Microsoft dropped XP X64 fairly fast after it's weak launch, a lot of programming companies simply aren't taking the time to develop software for an OS that had such a short shelf life. It'll work perfectly in Vista X64 and I'll be testing it in Windows 7 X64 fairly soon.

Unfortunately there is no way for me to upgrade my operating system at the moment.

Is there an earlier version of the software that I can run in compatibility mode on my winXP x64? I tried running v. 2.1.0 in compatibility mode under everything from 98, nt, 2000, and XP 32 bit, but none of them worked....

I will ask around and see if any of the software versions from before my time here would have ever run on x64 XP - can't make any guarantees though because they've all been build around the exact same system.

We currently do not. Hoping to have Linux as well as MacOSX soon, but I don't have an ETA on them yet.

I asked around and was told that since all of our releases have been built around the same framework, none will work with XP x64 - sorry about the troubles.

But surely you have an older release that works with Windows XP 32-bit (as your website still states), and if you give me that older version, I can put my OS into 32-bit mode and use it.

the current version supports full functionality in xp x86 - we just keep building around the same base we've always used so the core system has not changed from version to version

THen I don't understand why I get the message

It doesn't natively support x64 operating systems earlier than Vista x64.
Is there any way to run the installer in compatibility mode for XP x86?
