Cannot receive calls?

Post by jjtsl »

I have a 647 area code with a SPA3102 device and I have used FPL since early 2010. For the past few days though, I have not been able to receive incoming calls as they go directly to voice mail ("The person you are trying to reach is not available, please leave a message"). I can still dial out, but the dial tone sounds like it is engaged (quick beeping) for a few seconds before giving a continuous tone that one normally expects to hear. I did not change any of my settings or call plan, so I thought it might be the network problem, however, it has not resolved itself.

I would appreciate if anyone can provide insight into my problem.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, I've unplugged and replugged many times and in different sequences but to no avail. I even check to see if it was a voice message but this wasn't the case. Any other suggestions as to what could be the issue?

My ATA is always plugged directly into my modem. Just to make sure that this is not the problem, I've also tried plugging my ATA to the router but it is still the same.

Frustrations in the household is rising with the inability to receive calls, so I would be so grateful if there are any other troubleshooting suggestions.

If everything you posted above are true then, it is likely that your problem can be solved by doing some reading from this forum. Read up on star codes particularly 73 and 79, or google Linksys star codes. Also 87, just in case all the incoming calls you are expecting are anonymous.

You're a real genius! Someone in the household must have accidentally activated the call forwarding, so *73 to cancel the call forwarding resolved the problem.

Thanks a million!
