Phone line completely DEAD

Post by Mallox »

Since this afternoon my freephoneline is completely dead. No call in or out. When trying to call my number, the call does not foward or go to voicemail, it's doesn't even ring.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Have the same issue, I went through forums and besides some "wild guesses" (which I tried - there is nothing ). I tried to call my freephoneline from my mobile, and went into busy signal after two long signals (which tells me that server is overloaded on the other side), as it's second major issue that I have in a week, I start looking for alternatives.

Same here.

Was working earlier today but now my line is totally dead. Can't register with login server anymore.

When FPL is working, it is cool but when it crashes (and it seems to happen pretty frequently lately) it sucks.

At least, FPL could post a message on it's website to let users know that there is a major problem (or send an email to registered users).

I hate to be keep in the dark :(

I begin to think to move to another more reliable service.

I've paid 50$ to buy the unlock key + 25$ to port my number + I buy credit to do long distance calls. I think I deserve just a little bit better support from FPL.

Just saying...

Competely down here. I noticed that the IP for the server changed to 208.65.240.44 sometime today. Rebooted the ATA in case it cached the old IP but no luck.

Does the IP change often? I have these in my logs:

208.65.240.44 (what currently resolves for sip.fongo.com/sip.freephonline.ca)
208.65.240.142
208.65.240.165

They all seem to work now at 11:52pm EST.. duno what's up.

I can make and receive calls fine now, I'm using 208.65.240.142 with 120s expiry but server overrides to 3600s. I don't use fongo's vm or fwd so I dunno about those. 12:06am EST

That seems like a configuration problem. For now try running STUN (eg. server stun.callwithus.com) as well as NAT Keep alive and NAT Keep Alive.

Nope I disagree. Any Bell/Telus line (My Cell, Relatives, etc) that attempts to call my VoIP # gets a busy/disconnect. I'm using my FPL to make outgoing calls and can hear the remote end without issue and they can hear me. Even when a Fongo / FPL number attempts to call me the call goes through successfully. My phone number was ported from Bell a couple weeks ago and was working fine until around last night.

Finally I just got through to a CSR and after explaining the details I described here, they told me that this a known issue today and that they're actively working on it.

Same issue here, Toronto, North York.
I can make outgoing calls.
ATA configuration says registered.
But I can't receive incoming calls. They get nothing, not even voice mail. No ringing.

Yesterday I received a call at 16:34 but another call at 17:10 was not received
This has been happening intermittently on Friday (21.Dec) and all day today (22.Dec)

I rebooted all of my pieces (modem, router, ATA, in that order) did not help.
Is this something on my end, or something widespread with the server?

There is another FPL phone in my area, i just called it, it works well.
I asked them to call me, they can't get through, it's not ringing on my end.
Whether the incoming to me is from Bell, from FPL or from mobile it's not ringing.
