My Linksys WRT54p2 doesn't work anymore.

Which device has the best price and easy to configure? Is this one good?

No. Avoid fake PAP2s (they're discontinued, and the ones found on eBay or Kijiji are usually fakes as well): https://www.ukvoipforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=565.

Did you know that not only were Sipura and Obihai ATAs designed by the same engineers, those engineers also invented the ATA at Komodo technology 15+ years ago? OBi ATAs are really the latest versions of the PAP/SPA ATAs - granted, with more/better call routing features, better hardware, and better audio quality
So, the engineers that designed the PAP series left and eventually started designing Obihai ATAs. The SPA112/122 series are not the true successors.

If you don't need two phone ports, you might want to take a look at an Obihai OBi200 if you want something powerful:
https://www.amazon.ca/Obihai-OBi200-Ada ... B07FCS1NGM (ensure that the seller is Amazon and not a third party seller)
or
https://www.newegg.ca/polycom-2200-4952 ... 6833617015 (ensure that the seller is Newegg and not a third party seller)

The two phone port version is the more expensive OBi202, but they're harder to find in Canada from an official retailer due to being sold out at the moment.
Alternatively, the OBi302, which doesn't support Google Voice, is located at https://www.acrovoice.ca/obistore/.

If you want something cheaper but less powerful, I would take a look at Grandstream ATAs since they can randomize local SIP and RTP ports, which is better for security and helps resolve corrupted NAT associations.

Hello
I'm satisfied freephoneline.ca user for the last 10 years.

I've been asked to set up the samething I have at home at my mother-in-laws house.

Unfortunately, I've forgotten how to do a few things in order to setup an account.

I'm planning to use a Grandstream GS-HT802 2 Port Analog Telephone Adapter VoIP Phone & Device and a wifi extender with an ethernet port.

Where I'm not sure is in regards to registering and porting.

Question, how do I check if I can actually port my mother-in-law's number before
buying the sip code?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have a SIP key from FPL. Is there a free migration path to Fongo or do I need to port and pay for a new SIP key?

Visit https://support.freephoneline.ca/hc/art ... Home-Phone

When you port out from Freephoneline, you will lose your VoIP unlock key, your FPL account, and any World Credits associated with it.

You will have to pay Fongo Home Phone monthly fees (currently, $4.95+tax per month when paid annually). Fongo Home Phone is a locked service. There is no VoIP unlock key for it, and you are forced to use their Grandstream ATA.

Occasionally promos are offered where you can get several months of free service. Past promos were discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20168.

The VoIP unlock key price has been reduced to $99.50 +tax today.

However, there's an additional $1.95+tax per month fee for 911 access beginning in October 2024.
An annual $23.40+tax billing option for the 911 fee exists, and you can choose to prepay the 911 fee: https://www.fongo.com/freephoneline-911 ... bbe4bb0871.
