I agree with not complaining at every opportunity however I have two paid SIP lines at home and I also have my building entrance buzzer that calls the home number. I am waiting for a guest this weekend and this is causing some problems already. Not everybody knows my cell number.

To make it clear, I am nowhere near saying that I am going to move away from the service at this point. Considering I spend quite a bit with billable long distance and being (non-paid) ambassador of the service to friends and family, I do need this to be reliable so I can continue to recommend the service to others.

Short periodic updates from Fongo would be appreciated. I worked in IS and this is pretty standard procedure for major issues. For an example this is what my second provider posts on their support page. “Update 15:27 EDT - We have rerouted all the traffic from M1 to our M2 server.”

Still no service here when other seems having it back.
How can I check if I'm in the "lucky" ones who enjoyed registration loss?

I am enjoying the peace and quiet from the phone not ringing actually... for all those who really are bothered by the stability well then this is voip... call bell... get a POTS line.. 310-BELL.. 49 dollars a month for phone with 10 features and get your long distance plan for another 20 a month... Right now i spend 1 dollar a year in long distance... and i spent 50 dollars for the SIP settings... if they are down for today and even tomorrow it will not change anything for me in terms of how i feel about my VOIP line... I see more VOIP outages due to bell internet stability, downloading at fast speeds, or from me messing around with my own internal network.. Plus its a nicest weather for any March 18th that i can ever remember... I should go out and enjoy the beautiful day... Maybe a hike is in order (i've got a section of trail right across the road from me)... If someone needs to call me then I will always have my cell phone...

still no service here in Vancouver. Seems like it is going up and down - good symptoms of someone working on this :)

I got a call from Toll Free Serv 888-847-0148 at 3:35 pm eastern. I didn't pick up since I was recording a video for YouTube. No message was left. However it seems to be working now I tried making a few calls after that phone call came in. I'm guessing that was from Fongo? not sure.

Still down here in the Etobicoke area of Toronto. Just my luck this happens right after porting my number to FPL. Luckily we have a Magic Jack Plus for my wife to keep in contact with her family in N. Carolina and that's working fine.

Working here now in Etobicoke, but I wonder if the area really matters as you can select a number from any area they offer. Let's hope it stays working.

I missed all this excitement today :) When I got up I watched my recorded F1 race then seeing it is such a nice day I started on working on cleaning things up outside.

Things seem to be working OK here. Not that 'here' really matters I guess as we are all probably connecting to the same servers no matter where we are.

MANY HOURS - NO UPDATE!

Post by TheHardy »

Steve -- several hours later, only the users are posting -- where is our update? I am still having intermittent service at this point, and when it is "working" it is very choppy on short calls and longer ones terminate prematurely ... ???

Lack of service is frustrating, but the lack of promised updates to let us know what is happening is MORE SO! :(

@ 5.01pm, Toronto

- Phone is registering now but cannot call out at all, tried calling Bell & Rogers lines
- One call from Rogers/Bell cell out of 10 trials was able to come in, rest are going to silence and then busy tone.

Or perhaps Rogers home phone.

Bhell though more reliable overall has certainly had it's share of outages affecting myself and others. Nothing is immune just some are less sensitive.

Forwarding calls to my Rogers cell was no good as cell connections are also crapping out in our area lately and of course this morning.

Changes to DNS were made about an hour ago - has anyone tried rebooting their ATA or had any luck? Depending on the registration time of your ATA devices some may take longer to see the changes than others.

This is also the first official update that I have received since earlier - our teams have been busy working all day on this and my contact with them has been limited due to the fact that I myself am not at home base either today.

Ours has been up at least twice this afternoon. But it only lasted a couple minutes both times. I've tested again and rebooting the ATA doesn't have an effect. I've tried that several times and it doesn't make it start working. The times when it has worked it just did it on its own without a reboot. I'm using a Linksys PAP2T.

Still no luck here. I've rebooted twice in the last hour. No dialtone, even though my "SIP Settings" page on my freephoneline account say I'm connected.

I'm using a Grandstream HT287.

Was up here in Etobicoke, On. for quite a while, now down again.
I just unplugged my ata for a minute and plugged it back in and now it's working.
