Does anyone have a complete list of area codes and prefixes that can be called for free through freephoneline ?

Thanks,
It's not an official list, but it should be pretty close.

I have removed all references to our on-net list or calling area, aside from what Jake has here for simplicities sake; I have requested an easier method of viewing our free calling areas however no ETA on when developement will start.sukasem wrote:Link not working, anyone has updated list.Red89GT wrote:http://forum.freephoneline.ca/download/file.php?id=303

This is a singularly awesome signature
Re: List of area codes/prefixes free to call
Keep in mind that list is nearly 3 years old and I have not updated it since. In fact I had forgotten it was there
Re: List of area codes/prefixes free to call
I know this is an old thread, but is there anyway to get an updated list? The link is now broken. I'd like to use the list to implement outbound routing.

I attached a current list in text format, one NPANXX per line. Obtained from http://www.freephoneline.ca/completeList?country=CANADAMrDoo wrote:I know this is an old thread, but is there anyway to get an updated list? The link is now broken. I'd like to use the list to implement outbound routing.

Re: List of area codes/prefixes free to call
In addition to that list, you should be able to call every town/city on this list http://www.fongo.com/calling/free/
The list I made years ago was fine at the time, but it would be very outdated now so I didn't keep the pages going. Plus we now have official listing from Fongo which we didn't have back then.

Perfect! That's just what I was looking for, thanks!xoy74 wrote:I attached a current list in text format, one NPANXX per line. Obtained from http://www.freephoneline.ca/completeList?country=CANADA
BTW, are the NPA-NXX numbers without an indicated city valid (perhaps these are currently unassigned)? I noticed these were omitted from your list.

Re: List of area codes/prefixes free to call
Thanks again. I'll test my outbound routing tonight. It should be fairly easy to keep it up to date now that Fongo provides a list.
Edit: Well, it turns out I have a 64kb limit on my dial plan, so this list is too big. I'll probably keep the entries I use most often, and setup an automatic query on the Fongo rate lookup page for the rest.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Please let me know.

Re: List of area codes/prefixes free to call
For example if someone is running an IP PBX (such as Asterisk), they can set up outbound routing so that when dialing an area code/prefix that is free, use FreePhoneLine, but when the destination number is not free with FPL use a different provider.

Our you can use a method of passing a different trunk by pressing 9(or any number you define) and then number you wish to call.
For example:
All outgoing calls to free cities go through FPL trunk.
If I want to call a city that is not covered or USA, I dial "9" followed by the number I wish to call.
That will switch to another trunk.

I'm trying to avoid having to dial something extra, but it's certainly the fall-back option.
