Thank you. I checked today and it is good.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

"This seemed to only affect new accounts that never had call forwarding configured since migration of the calling platform in 2020. The web team has applied a fix on the website to allow the setting to update."

This issue should be resolved now. Please check. Thank you

a) What call forward mode are you using?

b) What follow me mode are you using?

c) In voicemail settings, what number is Rings before voicemail set to?

d) What happens exactly, during an incoming call that you do not answer?

There's two call forward ring modes:

1) Simultaneous

All numbers ring simultaneously. The first device that answers the call (including that device's voicemail system) takes precedence. Freephoneline's voicemail will not answer the call if another device has first.

2. Sequential

"The Sequential ring mode causes the call to be forwarded to the first listed Follow Me number. If the call isn't answered at the first Follow Me number, it will continue on to the next Follow Me number and so on. If none of your Follow Me numbers have voicemail, the call will be directed back to [FPL's] voicemail system."

The number of rings specified for each number is important if you don't want another device's voicemail system, in your follow me numbers list, to answer the call.

https://support.freephoneline.ca/hc/en- ... Follow-Me-

And there's two Follow Me modes:

A. "Always Call Forward - Always Call Forward will always forward incoming calls to your Follow Me number(s)."

Okay, that's straightforward.

Here's the confusing part:

B. "Call Forward When Unavailable - Call Forward When Unavailable will only forward calls when you are offline or decline calls."

What happens with "Call Forward When Unavailable" is selected is this: if the incoming call would otherwise go to FPL's voicemail normally (when call forwarding is disabled), the call is forwarded. That has nothing to do with your ATA being offline or your number not working. Someone could simply not answer the call despite your FPL number working, and the call will still be forwarded.

Ring ring ring ring. Oh, no one is picking up. I, FPL, would normally send the call to voicemail at this point, but I'll just forward the call. That's basically what happens.

In other words, even when the ATA is online and registered, if the call would normally go to FPL's voicemail, the call is still forwarded. The trigger for "Call Forward When Unavailable" seems to be whether FPL's voicemail system would normally pick up--and not the ATA being unregistered. FPL's voicemail doesn't actually pickup though; the call is just forwarded at the moment that FPL's voicemail system would normally answer the call with call forwarding disabled. The call is then forwarded to your follow me numbers. If no one picks up the call after all that, the call gets dropped, finally, to FPL's voicemail system.

Again, the number of rings specified for each number in your call forwarding list is important if you don't want another device's voicemail system, in your follow me numbers list, to answer the call.
