I found a bug after the server software upgrade on Oct 6, 2010.
I always use softphone on my PC and forward to my cell when not using softphone or exiting it on my PC.
It was working all the time before the upgrade that after I "quit" the softphone by either select "exit" on the pull down menu or click on the "X" on top right corner of the softphone. The softphone then closed on my PC. After that, if I call my FPL# again immediately, it will be forwarded to my cell phone immediately or go to my voice mail box depending on what call handle instruction I set in my "FollowMe" option.

It was not working anymore when I quit the softphone by either select "exit" on the pull down menu or click on the "X" on top right corner of the softphone.
I called my FPL# after exiting the softphone using the captioned way and after 16 seconds of silence dead air, I got a busy tone, it is not even go to my voice mail box. I think the server still thinking that the softphone still registered but not be able to communicated and then treat it as "unreachable" and reply with a busy tone.
The situation were not restored until after more than 30 minutes. i.e. 30 minutes that ppl cannot reach me!
The only way that will ensure the softphone quit gracefully is to select "logoff and close" option from the menu. With this option to quit the softphone. The server will detect the status of the FPL# correctly as "unavailable" and execute the call forwarding instruction when someone calling my FPL#.
With the latest option, it is not quite convenience as it will eliminate the "remember password" function and everytime I start softphone, I have to do login.
With the previous option to quit, the next time I start softphone, I don't need to login again if I select the "remember password" option.
Will FPL consider to make the server interpretes the softphone is "not available" if there is no communication for say 1 minutes, etc. so that the "unavialable" status established as soon as possible and the normal call handling instruction set in the "FollowMe" will be kicked in.
Or alternatively modify the softphone to perform "graceful logoff" no matter what option we used as above. Also please keep the remember password work also with "logoff and close" option and then provide an separated menu option for user to set the 'Remember password.
FPL's kind action to look into this is much appreciated.
Meanwhile, the workaround is to do a gracefully and frankly logout using the "logoff and close" to exit softphone please all FPL members!
